Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Player challenge this week and she has a great theme for us. It was the perfect excuse to bring out my Thinking of You set and the hearts foil plate, both of which are from Pinkfresh Studio.
Here's a sneak peek:
Lilac and yellow – definitely spring colors! Oh, and here is Claire's challenge:
I began by hot foiling the images with my pressplate and some platinum foil. I then colored the flowers using the matching stencils. I took the stamp and die from a set called Signed and Sealed from The Greetery. I've had this set for years and it's one that will always be in my stash. I slid the florals into the envelope and secured them with tape at the back and a little seal from the same set for the front.
I then hot foiled the hearts pressplate with the same platinum foil for the base. I adhered the envelope and added the die-cut sentiment.
Here's my full card:
I hope you will join us and play along with Claire's challenge. We would love to see what you create. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, the weather has been fabulous. It's been anywhere from the 20s to the 40s during the day. The sun has been shining and we have had the windows open. Oh, I love this time of the year when the first itsy bitsy signs of spring start to appear. However, it wouldn't be spring in Minnesota if we weren't expecting snow this week! I know the first day of Spring is coming up, but it does come later in Minnesota. It will be May before we really start to feel the effects.
This weekend we have changed out all the winter decor and are getting ready for spring/summer. Generally I do very little in terms of decorating as I like the light airy feel throught the house. Today I will finish off doing the bookcases in the family room and the new cabinets in the living room. The bedding gets changed out in the bedroom and things change from the warm colors of winter to the cooler, lighter colors of spring and summer.
We can't wait to be able to get outside. We have a couple of ideas of how to zhuzh up the deck and garden. We will also be putting up a couple of bird feeders and adding herbs to the walled garden at the front door. We have really enjoyed celebrating fall and winter in the new house and look forward to what spring and summer will bring.
As for me, I've enjoyed spending time in my craft room and playing along with some challenges and some of my old – and new goodies. This time of the year is a bonus for new goodies for me as we celebrate our anniversary, Christmas, Valentine's and then my birthday all within a 5 month period and I'd rather have crafting goodies than just about anything else as presents! As my birthday is coming up…… well, that means a few more new goodies 🙂
I'll be back tomorrow with a new card. I wanted to share a photo of Chili chilling in the sun room before I go. He's all ear tufts, mane and tail!
Smudgie on the other hand loves sleeping on the bed and I love the new sign that I got on Etsy for spring… and I am sorry if this gives you a Sound of Music ear worm 🙂
And silver white winters that melt into spring, these are a few of my favorite things :-) And they sure are:-)
I'll be back tomorrow, in the meantime warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Jaydee, this is fabulous! You are just amazing with that hot foil press. I love the gorgeous blooms and tucking them in the envelope is perfect. Don’t you love the stencils that match the stamp sets now! You certainly made my challenge shine with this beautiful card.
Your home looks so beautiful and I am so ready for warmer days!
What a lovely card! The foiling sounds so interesting, and it certainly gives both your background and flowers a nice touch. The colors are definitely spring-like and just delightful!
The silvered hearts background is just adorable! It’s a perfect backdrop for your gorgeous bouquet of flowers. All round, another beauty JayDee.
Such a lovely card, Jaydee! The flowers are so soft and feminine. I really need to check into foiling. I love the look. As always, you have created a delightful card! Oh, thank you for the ear worm. Now I have the entire soundtrack racing through my head. lol By the way, Chili is growing up nicely. He is such a handsome boy! Have a wonderful week!
I love the effect of the foiling on your card and your envelope full of spring goodness is so pretty Jaydee – and thanks for the ear worm, definitely a favourite!
Beautiful card. I love the foil accents (wish I could afford a foil machine). – You chose perfect colors for your flowers. – Loved seeing both your kitties. I do admit that I did get those SOM vibes from the quote but it’s a nice one.
Those flowers are delightful, Jaydee and tucking them into the envelope makes such a great design! And the foiled hearts carry on the theme of the sentiment. So pretty!
And I don’t mind the Sound of Music earworm, it’s been one of my favorite movies since I was 8 years old (a looong time ago lol)!
