This and that….

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday

I know I said I wouldn't post until tomorrow, but thought I would drop in and say hi to everyone.  Oh yeah… and congrats Beverly…. I never win anything – and you go win a cabinet for your brand new sewing machine….. So… what's the winning lottery numbers for this week? 🙂

Many of you have made the very sensible suggestion of getting someone to pack for me.  But.. you know how it goes… I want to make sure that everything that moves to the house is what we want or need… so, it means touching everything, looking at everything and deciding whether it really should go into the packing box – or the recycling box!   I'm very good about doing a clean out every year, but, even with that, there is still a lot of "stuff" that I think I'd rather recycle and find a new home for than take to the new house.   So, that's the reason I'm packing myself.

Of course, that also means going through all my stamping stuff.  Over the last few years I have amassed a collection of stuff that I absolutely HAD to have… nay… NEEDED!   Well, you know how that goes, too.  How much of it sits in my cupboard and never gets to see ink or the light of day?  I think that I may be having a garage sale on that stuff, too!

We go to see the house on Monday and we know for sure that a lot will have changed since we last saw it.  This past couple of weeks should have seen the siding go on.   Floors down.  Mechanical in…. lots of good stuff!  So, we can't wait to go visit.

I found a landscaping company that does prarie and wetland restoration projects… sounds like they are the ideal people to do our landscaping.  So they are the first guys we will meet with to discuss our plans.   That's really exciting.   We are also off to buy light fittings for the dining room and above the dinette table.   We saw this light fitting when we were at West Elm and I LOVE it….. it's so beautiful in real life and I think will look marvelous over the dinette table.  When you see it in real life, it casts a beautiful soft light over the table.

For the dining room, we are going more formal with this chandelier from crate and barrel.

It's actually much bigger than it looks… and is really pretty because of the crystal disks holding up the lights.    Its all so exciting being able to go buy some new goodies:-)

"D" so glad you find a place to visit for a little midnight blog-reading 🙂

Now… I'm off to go feed the pussycats before they phone the SPCA!

Warm hugs and prayers to all of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jaydee, I’m so excited for you and Lou and can’t wait to see more pictures of the new house. Sure do wish I was close buy for your stampin’ garage sale. I’m in Williamsburg, VA and having 80 degree days…wonderful! Have a nice day yourself!

  2. I totally agree with you on the packing …. I wouldn’t never want someone packing for me. I am getting rid of a lot of things too … matter of fact I already started selling some stamping items that I just do not use.
Lucky you get a landscaping company to come in. I have to do my own, what is up with that? No, I really enjoy being outside and landscaping and mowing, oh I can smell that fresh cut grass now. I can’t wait to start mowing. : )
Thanks! Then last night I won a Lightroom Max Bundle Software worth 179.00 and then I looked up the cabinet and it is valued at $500. WOW!

  3. Your formal dinning room light is similar to ours which I love, especially at Christmas as I put a little wreath on each light. Very festive. Your house is going to be so lovely, can’t wait for more pictures.

  4. Jaydee, I love the Capiz light. It looks like something on HGTV. This house is going to be fabulous and so worth the work and the wait. It sounds like it is just what you have been waiting for. I wanted to let you know that I received the canvas but hadn’t had time yet to try it. Hopefully that will happen in the next couple of days. I am excited to try it so thanks for sending it to me. Have a great weekend and keep plugging away at those boxes!

  5. I can second Cindy, and tell you it’s going to be 80 again today here in W’burg. You really should come to this part of the US some time. The Eastern US–Virginia in particular (not that I’m biased or anything) is simply gorgeous. And, we’re inordinately proud of the fact we are the home of the first permanent English settlement in the New World and it’s over 400 years old! (I was chuckling about that when I visited the UK so many years ago and I walked in an abbey built in I think 400 AD or some such.)
As for the packing, I get it. I’m the same way. That way I can get rid of that which isn’t in use any more and and sort into boxes for new locations in the new home. :o)
I too wish I lived close by for I’m sure that’s to be one heck of a stamping heaven of a garage sale!
That light is gorgeous, and hooray for finding a landscaping company to work with your wetlands. Yes!
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hi Lou! :o)
