Hi Everyone. Happy Palindrome Date Day!
I played along with the great sketch across at FreshlyMade this week
I so rarely make square cards that I was excited to be pushed out of my comfort zone. I have no idea why, but as soon as I saw this sketch I decided to make a shaker card. I haven't made one of those in …. forever… well, maybe not forever, but certainly a LONG time!
I thought I would ink up my new Timeless Tropical set and hand colored it. Now, I love this image, but for some reason, I cannot get a clean image on the center of the stamp, so I had to spend ages creating the detail in the middle. I began with a watercolor base layer and when it was dry, I used my Prismacolors to color the hibiscus flower, leaf and the frangipani. I die-cut them with the matching dies. I added some Heidi Swapp sprinkles to the inside and an Altenew label sentiment.
Here's my card:
On a personal note:
Oh… the weather outside was…. GORGEOUS today. It reached a high of 45 degrees. The sun was shining. We finally bumped into neighbors that we haven't seen outside since November! The kids were out enjoying the day and the chickadees were calling. It was truly glorious. I know Tuesday will be back down at 19 as a high…. but we relished in the sun today. We normally walk at a very brisk pace coming out of the gym but not today. We dawdled to the car 🙂
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

What a gorgeous card! Love that you turned it into a shaker. Do those Heidi Swapp sprinkles stick to the acetate? That’s my problem with sequins, they seem to stick from the static quite a bit.
Pretty! Love your bold floral embellishing your circle shaker. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!
Those bright color tropical flowers look absolutely stunning! I love how they pop against the all white background. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
I love your hint of sparkle behind those lovely flowers! Such a happy card to say “you are the best”! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Very pretty.
Thanks, Tracy.. Yeah they do tend to stick a little. One of the things I do is used my embossing buddy on the acetate to try to get rid of a little of the static
