Valentine Defined – Valentine

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday.

Tonight I have a Valentine card for you.  Yep, a card that actually says"Valentine" on it.  All the other cards I have made recently have used the Valentine Defined set – but none of them have used the "V" word.  I am really, surprisingly, loving this set.  The main reason I purchased this set was that I thought it would make great cards for the troops.  So far, I am so glad that I did.

Across at StampinRoyalty this week, they are having a HEARTS challenge.  I decided this would be a great opportunity to pull out my Valentine Defined set again.  This time, however, I wanted to do a one layer card. I find one layer cards very difficult.  I really battle with them.  I wanted to do a one layer card but, of course, couldn't resist just a little touch of ribbon!

This card is super quick and super easy.  It took less than 10 minutes from conception to tying the knot on the bow.  Most of that time was spent deciding on the layout for the card!

Here's what I came up with

   Royalty

Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

  • Card Stock:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Glimmer Paper
  • Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Pink Pirouette
  • Accessories:  Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon
  • Stamps:  Valentine Defined
  • Tools:  Heart to Heart Punch (119881)

So, what do you think?

On a personal note:  Today was a more normal day workwise.  Yay…. things have been a little quieter the last two days, which is wonderful.  I might even get into my stamping space tonight!

Now… tonight's question… what are y'all doing for Valentine's Day?  Lou and I haven't quite decided what we are doing yet.  Stay  home, or go out.  My preference, right now, stay home!  So, leave me a comment and let me know what you will be doing on Valentine.  Which reminds me, I love reading which of the Super Bowl ads were your favorite.  It seems that the Beaver ad and Little Darth Vader were your favorites.  They were both great ads.

Prayers tonight for Rose, Adelle, Erin, Jan A, those still being affected by the aftermath of the floods and fires in Australia.  Germaine.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Funny, I have a card very similar to that up on my desk right now. :o) Great minds and all that, right? ;o)
I don’t think B and I are going to do anything for Valentine’s proper. We’re going to try to sweet talk Mom and Dad into taking care of the girls so we can go out to our favorite restaurant the following weekend. That, and we’ll probably hit Barnes and Nobel, our favorite date spot, lol. :o)

  2. Beautiful Clean and simple card! I too struggle with just one layer, the added ribbon is the perfect touch. Thanks for joinning us this week at Stampin’ Royalty.

  3. Jaydee, this it so simply pretty! Love it’s simplicity and those little hearts are the perfect finishing touch. Thanks for playing with Stampin’ Royalty.

  4. Aw, now that is just simply adorable and cute and pretty and lovely… well you get the hint! Love it and I will be *casing* that one. Dinner…we are going to the Outback Steakhouse (my choice) and friends are coming along with us this Saturday evening.

  5. Nice one layer card. I never feel finished with one layer. As for V day, after 55 years together we consider that a celebration no matter what day it is. We’ll stay home and get take out. Marge

  6. I’m going to my book club, spending the night with good friends generating great conversation. This month we’re each ‘selling’ a book that we’ve read in the past month.
