Wisteria Concord Eggplant Butterflies!

Hi Everyone, happy Tuesday night.

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend.

My card tonight was created based on the cleanandsimplestamping sketch, which you can find HERE.  It was a very different sketch for me and I was inspired to pull out a stamp set that I rarely use – Butterfly Prints.  Of course, it just felt right to pair it with So Happy for You.

Then, I decided it was a really fun idea to pair together the purples.  Now, this card is going in the OWH card drive and I thought it would be fabulous for a tween or early teen girl.  Most girls LOVE purple at that age!

Here's my card…. I would like to say that I put the sentiment at an angle to follow the flight of the butterfly…. however, that would be a little fib… I slipped when I was putting the sentiment on the paper.  I decided, though, that it was ok, because it did look as though the butterfly was following the progression the sentiment started!

The bottom Concord Butterfly was punched out of DSP.  All the others were stamped and then hand snipped.  Of course, I couldn't resist the pearls.  I also decorated the inside.  But… because I like to leave as much white space on the inside of the OWH cards as I can, I kept the inside nice and simple.

Here's a closeup of the Concord Butterfly.  You can see what I did with the double layers for this one – and get a good idea of how beautifully Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant work together.

and who on earth is this interloper?  A little identity crisis going on here? 🙂

A strange looking turkey in the background, me thinks!

Warm hugs and prayers tonight for those who need a lift.

As always, thank you for visiting my area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visits, and your comments are greatly appreciated.

Have a fabulous Wednesday

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Love this card Jaydee! I kinda chuckled on the sentiment being a little crooked because this happens to me all the time. BUT you make it look good on your card. Mine is usually very BAD!
Love the pics of the turkeys!
Prayers to all who are in need!

  2. WOW! I don’t work with purple a lot (lest anyone accuse me of being a MN Vikings fan) but I’m going to using the combination ASAP. Love it!
Took me a minute to find the interloper–too funny. The hens don’t seem at all conserned with the addition to their flock. Thanks for the smile. 🙂
Have an extra Happy Hump Day-enjoy the BeAuTiFUl weather. Warm thoughts and prayers to all in need.

  3. It also took me a few seconds to find the interloper–he blends right in. Those chicks are really growing fast. So cute!

  4. My sentiments ALWAYS seem to come out crooked, hee hee. I never would have noticed had you not said anything. :oP
I don’t use purple that much, but maybe I should rethink that–it looks wonderful and so cheerful. And, don’t get me started on that snipping thing you do. You’re crazy I tell ya! ;o)
I LOVE the photo of the mama and her chicks. That interloper is a cutie too. :o) Thank you for posting that for us.
And, before I forget, Hi Lou!
    Hugs!

  5. Marvelous card with those wonderful colors!! So pretty.
Turkeys are looking good! (And NOT for Thanksgiving dinner either! LOL) Just kind of makes you want to pick up all those little babies and give them a hug!

  6. Lovely card, Jaydee! And thanks for posting the pics of your poults! We have a few running around our neck of the woods as well. It’s quite new to us, and very much a treat! 🙂
