Hi Everyone
Happy Saturday Night!!! Yay… I got more time to spend in my stamping space today. I made several cards with a new set I bought… but that's for a post later this week :-) Enough to say it has something to do with dragonflies! As some of you appreciated last night's Mother's Day card, I thought I would carry on the theme. Tonight's card uses the Well Scripted, the designer series paper from the level 3 hostess set "lovely flowers bundle" and flowers made from the 5-petal punch. I am absolutely loving this paper, in fact I used it on my card last night, too.
I used the sketch challenge from the team at Stamping411. I've made a pact with myself to try to keep up with my challenges this week as I have done badly at that this last couple of weeks. Pop along to 411 and see the wonderful inspiration cards.
Here's my take on the challenge.
I've been dying to do a grey and yellow card and this seemed like the perfect time!
- I used Crushed Curry for my yellow, as it matches beautifully with the paper from the Lovely Flowers bundle.
- As the flowers on the DSP are printed in an outline of white, I decided to emulate that by making my flowers from Vellum. I cut the Vellum using my 5-petal punch. I punched three petals for each flower. I used the same technique that I had used for my clean and simple card you are awesome.
- I folded the petals back very gently and then adhered each layer on top of the other, moving very slightly off center. I adhered the layers using a little snail. Once I had got the 3 layers together, I gently folded up the petals again. A half pearl from the pretties kit finishes off the flower.
- I layered a piece of Crushed Curry underneath a layer of Whisper White and finished it with another layer of Crushed Curry.
- I played around with the flowers until I thought they were in the right place and then stamped the "Wonderful Mother" sentiment on Basic Grey, using my stamp-a-ma-jig. I then put stampin dimensionals behind the Crushed Curry layer and wrapped the ribbon around it and tied a bow in front just underneath the sentiment.
- I then positioned the flowers and adhered them using mini glue dots.
- I wrapped some grey satin ribbon around the top 3 layers
I love the translucent luminosity from the flowers, they don't overpower the card and they just echo the white outlined flowers on the DSP. I also love the yellow and grey. I did try it with Whisper White ribbon and liked it…. but preferred the pop of color with the grey.
So… the cards have all left the building and are on their way to the charities. YAY!!!! I did want to show you the picture of Bailey helping me close up the boxes…… always a wonderful thing when you have an assistant that is so awake on the job!
oh… isn't life grand …. a nice comfy couch, with a soft cushioned back, that is perfect for making a hammock… a warm fire…. and it's all just too tiring. Isn't he gorgeous!
I'd like to give a huge shout out to Trish, Missy, Adelle, Beth, Yvonne, Cherie, Kelli, Brenda, Lynn and Allison. Your support and encouragement, get me into my space to update my blog every day – thank you!
I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday, filled with joy, laughter, peace and love. Me… Oh… Yeah… I'm taking Lou to the airport. Mmmmmm…

Beautiful, beautiful, card! Love how you did the flowers in the vellum! Does this mean I need this punch now!!!!? Also, your kitty is just adorable. I can see he was SO much help! Precious.

This card is breathtaking! Wow!It is just beautiful!
Now I need that punch for the flowers! I tried with a punch I have and it just does not have the same effect! Good thing I am having a Stampin Up party this week! My wish list is growing…
That’s it–as soon as I’m done with taxes and the college aid forms I am grabbing my 5 petal punch and going to town! I LOVE this card and am glad my Mom doesn’t have internet access, now I can take full credit for her card! heehee, just kidding, of course I’ll give you credit Jaydee.
Give my buddy Bailey a belly rub for me.
And where in the world is Lou headed this time? You know he’s leaving just in time so as to increase his chances of a March Madness snow storm on his return!
Wanted to post when I first saw this card, but life got in the way. I adore this card. Just beautiful. The vellum flowers are so soft and pretty. May I use them? I love the colors, yellow is my favorite! Boy, that Lovely Flowers, has some wonderful DSP in it. Too bad I will never be able to reach it. Love Baily helping out!! That is just what Magic would have done, or laid down just where I wanted to work, hee, hee. Such enthusiasam Baily has for what is going on around him. I love it!!!

Amazing card! I love the simplistic lines and the vellum flowers are gorgeous. Weston is here while I’m posting and he wants to say hi to Bailey.
Stunning! Love colors together and those flowers are so ethereal looking – just lovely!
Thanks for playing this week!
Great card! I love the idea of the vellum flowers.
I love to visit your blog as it is inspiring and you share from the heart. Just some days I don’t manage to comment if I steal a peek at work.
I have to comment about the gorgeous kitty (did you slave-drive him that is so exhausted from helping you???) Did he first have to inspect the boxes. Mine would have been in them like a shot – if you bring an empty box home they always have to check it out and jump in and out.
sooo pretty! love the vellum flowers!TFS
Love this!!! Not a huge curry fan, but this is a beauty!!
Gorgeous card…love the colors! What a sweet kitty, too! Thanks for playing along this week!
