Yippee Skippee for Casethissketch

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.

I have a new set to showcase tonight – Yippee Skippee.  This is one of the all-attendee give-aways that we got at convention this year.   When I saw the sketch across at casethissketch I decided it was time to make a card for my honey.

Now, all my loyal blog readers know that he has just about painted the entire house since we moved in just over a year go.  In fact, he's got just a couple of rooms to go.  I am really grateful that has done this, and given up valuable cycling time!  Which is a BIG thing for Lou. :-)

In order to get the sketch to work, I had to turn it on the vertical, instead of the horizontal.   But the team did say it was OK to do that 🙂

Here's my card for Lou:

I really love the black, red and Cherry Cobbler and I think I need some more of the Chevron ribbon, too.  Even though it's ribbon, I think Lou will approve 'cos it's not girly and frilly :-)  I used a little linen thread to tie the ribbon together and then mounted the tag onto the heart embossed base.  I really like the white on white and the fact that the scallops on the tag echo the round tops of the hearts behind it.

On a personal note:

This has been a very long week with some very long hours.   At my desk before 6 am and not getting away until nearly 9.   Lou was away this week, too, so it makes it harder as there is no-one to share the chores with, or to just share a couple of moments outside of work.  Lou was sweating it up, literally, in 107 degree temps in California.  Colleen, I think he knows how you feel :-)  I'm pleased that you had some rain, but that was a lot of rain in a very short amount of time!

As always, thank you for stopping by my neck of the blogsphere!   Your visits, and your comments, are very much appreciated.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. What a great looking card Jaydee.
Lou, you deserve one Big pat on the back; PAT PAT; ok, well 2 pats. :} Now, if you would come and show my hubby just how it’s done.
Hey Jaydee; thanks for sending the cooler temperatures our way. Was in the 60’s yesterday morning and feels about the same this morning. Yes, it does warm up in afternoon but nothing like that 107-109 deg. temperatures. Those temperatures are just unbearable; especially when it goes on day after day.
Have a wonderful and fun weekend

  2. Jaydee,
I have my cards ready for OWH. I need your snail mail address to send them.
Thanks for nudging me to do this.

  3. Is it wrong that sentiment made me laugh? It’s fabulous! :o) I think that is a very challenging sketch and love what you’ve done with it. Even with that small piece of ribbon I think it’s masculine–there’s no bow after all, right? ;o)
Lou, you’re a doll to do all the painting. We’ve been in this house for almost eight years and I’ve still not managed to paint it all. I’m more of a paint-it-one-room-at-a-time-over-the-course-of-eight-years kinda girl. ;oP
Oh Jaydee, it seems like you’re undoing all that you did when you got that rest when you were ill. Those hours are CRAZY! I hope you get quite a bit of downtime this weekend.
    Hugs!
