Pooh and Piglet for CAS on Friday 314, Send A Smile For Kids and Simon Says Stamp

Happy Saturday.

I don't know what it's like in your neck of the woods but today's weather is what I call PERFECT.  It is incredibly rare for us to get these kinds of days – temps in the low 70s.  Dew point at 50 and a slight breeze.  Just gorgeous.  So, we managed to spend a couple of hours out on the deck just enjoying this glorious weather and listening to the birds.  I came in to share a card with you that I made for CAS on Friday, Sendasmile4kids and SimonSaysStamp.  It features two of my favorite all time childhood characters – Pooh and Piglet.  Trust me, if I could have gotten Tigger on the card somewhere, he would have made an appearance!

Here's a sneak peek of my card:

And here are the challenges:

Oh, I cannot tell you just HOW much fun I had creating this card.  Wonderful memories of my childhood.  I began by die-cutting all of the elements with 110# Neenah Solar White cardstock.  I went with ink blending on white rather than colored cardstock as I can really get the feel of the colors that I want.  Blending gives more shades of light and dark and I can get just the right level of color.  I hope that makes sense?

I colored Pooh with two shades of yellow, one shade of orange and a little bit of brown.  Piglet was colored with two shades of pink and a touch of grey.  The balloon was colored with 3 different colors of red and a touch of the same brown that I used for Pooh.

I die-cut a focal panel and added some blue shading at the top and then die-cut a grass edge and blended that with several shades of green.  Once all the elements were ready I addded them to my focal layer  I didn't want to add yet another element to my card, so I stamped the I heart you sentiment onto the balloon instead.  I popped u the focal layer on a couple of layers of extra cardstock to give it just a little lift from the card base.

Oh, these two just make me smile!  I really have to find an excuse to create a Tigger and Eeyore card!  I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.   In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
