Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday.
One of the challenges I got to play with on Sunday was this great sketch from As You See It.
I decided that I really need to make a card that wasn't a Christmas card and the sketch prompted me to bring out a set from Papertrey Ink called Star Gazer Additions that really doesn't get a lot of love. it has a circular stamp that would work really well for the sketch.
I added some die cut vellum stars that I ran through my new SU star embossing folder. I've really been reaching for my SU coaster board for sentiment layers. It's easy to run through my Big Shot and creates a sentiment banner that has more strength than just card stock. The finishing touch added just a little bit of bling and I liked the way it carried through the star theme.
Here's my take on the sketch:
If you look carefully on the left hand side of the card, you will notice that I stamped off the top layer and onto the base layer to add a little more interest.

On a personal note:
Well, the weather is supposed to be getting warmer, but I'd rather see more sunshine! One of the things that I love about living in Minnesota in winter is the many, many, many days of sunshine. These dull, grey days are reminiscent of England and it's one of the things I don't miss about England 🙂
I'll be back tomorrow with another card – and some shots from the garden! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

What a lovely birthday card. I’ve been on a Smoky Slate/Silver kick lately and this fits right in with those cards. ;o) Of course, I was inspired by the yucky grey we’ve had lately…maybe you were as well? ;oP
I hope your sunshine reappears–ours did briefly today and it was lovely. Now it’s gone once more. Only two sunny days so far in December. What’s going on here???

I have a question for you Jaydee. I love your cards with the stitching around the edges. I went on line to Lawn Fawn to see about the borders and they have a large and small stitched rectangle. I’m thinking it should be the small but I thought I’d check and see what you used. Thanks much, Pam
Pam, the dies are Lil Inker and you can check them at this link. I LOVE them… for some reason, they just seem to be the size that I need. The largest die doesn’t cut – it just embosses – that’s because it fits a 41/4 x 51/2 piece of card stock. So, it allows me to put the stitching on the card base without cutting the edges.
