Sneak Peek: Ornamental Pine

Hi Everyone  Happy Tuesday.

For the next few night's I'll be featuring cards that I made with a set from the new SU Holiday catalog.

The interesting thing about this set is that it was a last minute purchase.  I realized I had some hostess dollars to spend and wasn't sure what to get.  I literally placed this set onto my order with very little idea of how much I would enjoy using it!  I started playing with this set on Sunday and ended up making several cards!  In fact, I don't think I'm quite finished yet 🙂

For tonight's card, I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the pine branch with Versamark and covered it with the new Ranger Verdigris embossing powder.  I love this stuff.  I love the multiple greens with a touch of gold and that fact that it has more dimension than normal.

I paired it with a sentiment from the EndlessWishes photopolymer set embossedwith gold embossing powder.  I really love this sentiment set and have to say, Stampin' Up!'s photopolymer sets stamp beautifully.  I've been really impressed with them!

To finish off the card, I stamped the cone with Versmark and embossed it with the same gold embossing powder and popped it with dimensionals.  I think it was a great finishing touch.

Here's my card:

Green pine with gold cone (1 of 1)

I really love the mixture of golds with that verdigris embossing powder, I think they work so well together.  I also stepped outside of my comfort zone and clustered all the elements at the top of my card.  Very unusual for me 🙂  I was really pleased that the card came together very quickly and yet looks rich with all that gold.

On a personal note:

I wanted to share a quick photo with you tonight. Fawn (1 of 1)

Mom has done a great job of keeping her fawn out of sight and safe.  We have had very few sightings of the two of them and I was thrilled to capture this photo.  It is such a restful sight 🙂

I'll be back tomorrow with another card using this same set.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
