I have another sneak peek for you tonight. I am totally in love with the new SAB DSP – Sweet Sorbet. it has the prettiest patterns and gorgeous spring colors. I decided to pair a sheet of it with a stamp set I rarely use – Hello, Lovely.
The touches of black really make this DSP pop and it made me realize, all over again, how fabulous Pistachio Pudding is. It really is a fabulous Spring color! I decided to matt the piece of Sweet Sorbet with black to match the black in the DSP. I then took a gel roller and added a little shimmer to the black dots and lines and, I know it's difficult to see, but I did the same to the negative space of the sentiment. I used the Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly punches and some Basic Pearls to create the butterfly. This DSP really does make me happy!
On a personal note:
We spent time trying to finish up the Christmas decorations inside the house today. Lou and I both finish work on Friday and am so looking forward to spending some time just enjoying the house, and each other. I'm also hoping to get some time in my stamping space to have a little fun with some rubber and ink!
I saw two decorations a few weeks ago and knew that I wanted them. They arrived this week and did not disappoint. They are called Barnaby and Braxton and here they are, in all their 77" glory, standing guard at the front door.
I absolutely love them. They add so much color to the porch and are glittery and sparkly. They are muted at night and the trees and wreaths take center stage, but during the day they really do bring life to the front door.
I also wanted to share a photo of our bells. They also make me happy, but I wish they had holes big enough to put candles in to help them shine at night.
I also love that the oak is still retaining the bronze colored leaves in the woodland.
So pretty, and the snow is pristine! I really do love this time of year and, Jeanne, I know you will appreciate these photos as we both love winter here in Mn.

I too love the new SAB DSP and am glad to see a sample using it. I can’t wait to try it myself. But I really love your new additions of Barnaby and Braxton. I used to collect nutcrackers but I sure never had anything like them. I don’t think they really are nutcrackers but that is what came to my mind when I saw the picture. I hope you enjoy their company. They are a nice addition to your beautiful porch.
Wow, this card is beautiful. I love the little bit of black. I love all you other snow pictures too, hard for us here in sunny California to believe its snowing.

Your front door entrance is gorgeous with Barnaby and Braxton standing guard. Makes for a nice welcoming.

At first sight I thought they were nutcrackers . . . I love nutcrackers . . . have three of them . . . this year they have been placed at the entrance table . . . your soldiers look absolutely charming . . . they are bigger than most, if not all of us!!
I can imagine those bells with a light inside . . . but even without them they look gorgeous!!
Was browsing your archives and . . . surprise!! I found I have an stamp like one of yours . . . “Kick out your heels and have fun!” . . . so pretty!

love the additions of barnaby and braxton, did you name them or did they already have thier names. i am a huge fan of the nutcrackers my biggest is over 36 ” and stands guard by the entertainment center. all year long., ( to big to put away ). love the card and the paper is awesome. enjoy your holiday. hope to see lots of posts here of your home and projects. take care
