French Foliage for Casethissketch

Hi Everyone.

Very quick post for you tonight.

One of the challenges I wanted to play along with was this great sketch from casethissketch.

These types of sketches always push me out of my comfort zone, which is exactly the reason why I do them!  I always find it hard to find three elements that match and that will fit onto a card front.  French Foliage to the rescue!   I know this set is retired, but I will never give it up!

I pulled out the three leaf stamps and inked them up with More Mustard (sorry… can't give that up either!), Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie.   I paired it with a piece of scrap DSP that I had lying around from a card kit and some matching sequins.   The leaf element was perfect to anchor the sentiment.

Here's my card:

French foliage (1 of 1)-2

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso to match the base layer.  I love the little sequins and how the colors pull the colors in from the DSP layer.

Why not pop along to casethissketch and check out the fabulous design team and submission cards, you know you will get lots of inspiration!

On a personal note:

Running late tonight and I need to go cook dinner and feed the puttytats before they phone the SPCA to complain about animal cruelty.  🙂

As always, thank you for your visits.  I really appreciate them.  Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  2. Beautiful Jaydee! I love this leaf set too, it’s my favorite. This is a great sketch using this stamp set. Really gives the leaves center stage like they deserve this time of year. The added sequins are delicate and add a little punch. I don’t know about your area, but we aren’t as colorful as in years past. A few here and there, but the pretty maples just seem sleepy this year!

  3. I really like this set too. I just got it not too long ago. I plan to use it very soon now that fall is upon us. I love your card!
