Hi Everyone. Happy Monday.
Quick post for you tonight.
I saw this great sketch across at cleanandsimple on Sunday and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I have a couple of new stamp sets and thought this sketch was a great way to combine them both.

As the theme across at onlinecardclasses has been to create masculine and feminine cards, I decided to do that with this sketch, too. I'll be sharing the masculine version with you tonight.
I purchased a set called Star Gazer and Star Gazer additions from PTI. I loved the idea of being able to make personalized birthday cards based on the astrological sign of the recipient. This card uses the additions background stamp and a sentiment from the Star Gazer set. I paired it with some shimmery black card stock and loved the result.
Lou gave it two thumbs up for confirming to a masculine design! That has to be good, right 🙂
I clear embossed the constellation chart onto the base shimmer black cardstock and added a few tiny silver stars die cut from Silver Glimmer specialty paper. I cut a large star from my sizzix framelits and adhered that to a die cut tag using Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment onto the tag and added a little star next to the sentiment. The tag was then adhered to the card base using dimensionals.
The card base was really hard to photograph because of the shimmer in it, but it really is a strong contrast with the silver stars when you see it in hand. I'll be sharing the feminine version with you tomorrow.
Don't forget to pop along to cas on sundays and check out the fabulous design team and submission cards for inspiration. I know the design team would love it if you played along, too.
On a personal note:
It was 76 degrees here today. Yes, siree, it was gorgeous. I managed to sit outside on the deck for about 20 minutes after work. I just looked out over the wetland and watched the birds, squirrels and deer go about their business. Whilst I was sitting there I was very surprised to see the two wood ducks come into land on the stump. I really wanted to snap a photo, but as soon as I moved my arm in my chair, they saw me and flew of. A couple of minutes later I saw the Eastern Kingbird (first sighting this year) and then I saw the Coopers Hawk come into the feeder! It was a great way to end a very long day!
Now, I am off to go feed the kittycats and cook some supper and then settle down to watch the Voice! As always, thank you for stopping by my little neck of the woods. Warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

If it has the “Lou seal of masculine approval”, I’d say you have a hit here. ;o) It’s fantastic and I LOVE the glimmer paper with the black.
76? Hooray for SPRING!!! I’m so glad you had an opportunity to enjoy your view of the wetlands. :o) Sometimes it’s nice to just sit and “be”.
Hugs!
P.S. Hiya Lou! :o)
