Checking in

Hi Everyone.  Happy Monday.

For all my blog readers on the East Coast, I hope you are all safe and have been spared the wrath of Hurricane Sandy.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all those millions of people who have been so badly affected by this terrible storm.  I watched the videos and saw the photographs of the damage and destruction this morning and was horrified.  I know many of my colleagues have been affected in multiple ways from severe damage to buildings, loss of power, etc. but they and their families are OK.  For that I am most thankful.

I am also thankful to the emergency workers, hospital staff and others who work around the clock to rescue and help those that have been trapped or caught up in storms of this magnitude.  My thoughts and prayers will also be with all those affected over the next few days as it is going to take days for the emergency teams to get power and services restored.

If you are looking for ways to help the storm victims – here are a couple of links that you might not have seen:

ABC News:  How to help victims of Hurricane Sandy

Don't forget our four legged friends.  The ASPCA is on the ground helping animals affected by the storm.  You can read more about their efforts, and how to help, on this link.  You can donate to the Humane Society and read about their efforts on this link.

I will be back tomorrow with an update on the card drives and a card for you.

Keep safe.  Say "I love you" to your loved ones.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Hi Jaydee,
I’ve been lying low the past few days as we’ve been ramping up for Halloween. Now I can take a breather.
The news from the Northeast has been devastating. My thoughts and prayers are with those impacted.
Just an FYI for those with Discover cards, you can donate your Cash Back bonus to the Red Cross–I discovered that yesterday when searching for still more ways to help out.
    Hugs to you and Lou!
