On the grow – every day is the perfect adventure – sneak peek

Hi Everyone.  Happy Monday night.

Jaydee is doing the happy dance!  Oh yeah!  She is!  Good job you can't see it.  Brenda and Cherie can tell you that it is not a good sight! 🙂

So, why am I doing the happy dance?  I made 2… yes count them… 2 cards… THIS EVENING AFTER WORK!  How cool is that!  Two.  yep.  Two!  That makes it as many cards in an hour after work tonight as I have made in two weeks!  I am not entirely sure that my creativity is back in force yet… but at least I am getting there!

Tonight's card uses the fabulous colors from the Paper Players color challenge this week.  Some of you may remember my card from Saturday using Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade, So Saffron and Whisper White.  Well, I loved this fresh color scheme so much, that I actually made a second card with it.  Again…. clean and simple… and yes… it does have a bow!

I love this image from the new On the Grow set – available at the beginning of May.  There is something about this image, with it's basket full of flowers, that really reminds me of Italy.  Many Italian women ride their vespas, full to the brim with groceries, flowers, etc. on the back.  So, this card is my homage to those brave souls who take on the traffic in Rome driving nothing other than a Vespa!  Driving around Rome on your vespa, enjoying the fruits of la dolce vita – really does epitomise the sentiment!

I was really tempted to color the vespa in the Poppy Parade, but restrained myself and kept it to the tulips in the basket instead.  You will notice… that my bow tying is not yet back to normal!

So, anyone ever ridden a Vespa?  Not me… no, sireeeee!

Talking about the Paper Players – we have our CAS challenge coming up this weekend.  So, don't forget to join us this week and use these gorgeous colors for your card – and then come back next week for CAS week.

On a personal note:

Y'all know that I love reading your comments.  I really do.  Well, tonight, I would like to give a shout out to Patty for the comment she left me on my Saturday card.  It brought tears to my eyes and made me feel hugged.  So, thank you, Patty.  I really did appreciate it.  I did take your advice and made a couple of notes on a card I had in mind using the Open Sea set.  I used those notes tonight and actually got the card made!

The temperature got to 80 yesterday.  It was very hot, very humid, and very windy.  We were under a tornado watch for a good majority of yesterday.  We were spared any inclement weather at all, however, not so our friends in Iowa, West Virginia, South Carolina and Wisconsin.  So, to all of you in these states, I hope you are all OK.  If you haven't seen details of the storm – you can click this link

Brenda sent me an email today asking me if I was still walking… she was worried that I wasn't taking the Doctor's advice and doing some stress relief.  Thank you, Brenda!  I am happy to report that I am, in fact, still following his advice.  It really does help.  Today, in fact, I managed to get a quick 2 mile walk in between conference calls.  I had a call that finished early and decided… you know what… I'm going to go walk.  So… I did!  I swear I was more productive – and more pleasant – once I had done that 🙂

Warm hugs and prayers for those who need a lift tonight.

I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. VERY sweet, Jaydee…..I love that set, but alas, probably will not get it. That little vase of flowers just aches for me to watercolor it. Oh well, I will live vicariously through yours!

  2. Yes, I’ve been on a Vespa, but on the back! I lived in Nairobi, Kenya when I was a little girl (whew, almost 50 years ago!) and my dad had a Vespa. On Saturday night, he’d take my two brothers, Mom, and me–one at a time–to the new soft-serve ice cream store downtown. What a fun memory! And what a sweet card you made to bring the memory.

  3. I have absolutely fallen in LOVE with Baja Breeze. I have been creating up a storm here with Lissie (it’s so wonderful to have a stamping buddy!) and Baja Breeze has been my go-to color. I saw your last post and the clean, simplicity of it really called to me. All that white space…the colors…Ah!
I feel the same way with this one. To have colored that Vespa Poppy Parade would have been jarring–I guess rather like the riders in Italy! ;o) This card is SO soothing and that BB ribbon really is the perfect finishing touch.
I’m sorry I’ve not been around the past few days as I’ve been visiting with Liss and don’t get much of a chance to be online.
Buuuuuut, I HAVE created THREE different cards using the color challenge colors and I love them. :o)
I hope you are having more time in your stamping space. I’m thrilled you had a chance to make two cards and hope more are on the horizon. :o)
    Hugs!

  4. Hi Jaydee
This is a very sweet card! I have never ridden a vespa but nearly got run over by one when we were on holiday in Rome!!! I can still hear the driver of the bike yelling at me in Italian!!
    Jan xx

  5. Jaydee this is just darling! I knew I was going to love that set once I saw it used. Your color combo looks so soft and spring-like with it. One of my neighbors has a So Saffron-colored Vespa. (although I’m sure that’s not the “real” name of the color) She always loks so sassy scootin’ around on it. Hooray for making two cards, too! I knew you would be back in action, soon enough. Hugs to you! 🙂
