Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday night.
Ann has a fabulous color challenge for us this week. I loved playing with these colors.
Perfect for spring. The colors? Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Baja Breeze and Whisper White as the Neutral.
I received a new "single stamp" from the new Stampin' Up! summer mini and thought this was a great time to take it out and give it a little ink love. I bought this stamp because it makes me happy every time I look at it.
For tonight's card, I decided to go the clean and simple route. This made sure that I took nothing away from this fabulous image and sentiment. All I needed was my markers, some iridescent ice embossing powder, my scoring tool, a little ribbon and some Stampin' Dimensionals.
Here's the full card:
Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up!:
- Card stock: Whisper White
- Inks: Poppy Parade, So Safron, Baja Breeze – all Stampin' Write Markers
- Accessories: Iridenscent Ice embossing powder, Baja Breeze Seam Binding ribbon
- Tools: Versamark pen, scoring board, Stampin' Dimensionals
- To add a little interest, I scored the card base using my scoring board. I made three lots of three scores 1/4" apart. I made sure that the middle scoring fed into the base of the stamped image.
- I then cut the front focal panel to the height of the card base, but cut off each side and mounted it in the middle using Stampin' Dimensionals
- I used my Versamark pen to go over the inked image and sprinkled with Iridescent Ice. In the right light, it gives just the right amount of bling to this image
- One piece of ribbon helped to underscore the sentiment and the focal image and stopped the image from appearing to "float"
I had a great time playing with this color scheme. In fact, I made two cards with it. I will share the other one with you later this week. We hope that you will play along with us this week. All you need to do is pop along to thepaperplayers and check out the challenge – and the fabulous cards provided by the design team. Some amazing cards for you again this week.
On a personal note:
It's getting really tough to find time in my stamping space right now. In fact, I have made 5 cards in 3 weeks. That's crazy. What with my damaged finger, not having time in my space, work, etc. it means that I don't have anything to share with you on my blog! I am hoping that things will get back to normal very soon and that I can get back to creating stuff and then being able to share them with you. I hope that you will forgive me if my blog posts are not as regular as they generally are.
I am having real withdrawl symptoms from not being in my space… on top of that, because I am not getting to create, I find myself wondering whether I still can when I stand in front of my table! Anyone else have that problem? I would have thought that when I finally get into my space I would be full of all of these ideas that are tumbling out…. well… no… I stand and stare at a piece of paper on my desk and think… well… now what? Oh well, I did get to make two cards today! So that is real progress, right?
Spring is on her way…. we think….. the forecast for the next few days is for rain. It's going to be great for the garden. Maybe we will start to see our first green shoots then.
Warm hugs and prayers to all of you who need a little lift.
Have a wonderful Sunday. I hope its a glorious day, wherever you are.
Hugs
Jaydee

So lovely, Jaydee. I saw that set and thought, no, I won’t have the patience to color those individually…..which is just what you did and how cute it turned out!!! I hope you are able to get some stamping time in soon. It is frustrating when you have so many ideas and not the time or ability to put them to paper. You’re such a creative soul, too…..it will come!
Awww! This is such an adorable little set! And I am experiencing some of the same problems as you. I am always running a day late and have little time to stamp! I think I’ve lost my mojo! LOL
Beautiful CAS card. Love the color palette and fresh look of this. Sure hope you’re feeling better soon.
This is such a cool card!I love the effect of the front panel and the colors are perfect! CAS at its best!
Hope you are able to create some cards this week. I am sure once you get going the ideas will flow! You are very creative!
Jaydee,
How cute is that! So clean and crisp. Love it!
This is a WOW clean and simple for sure! Love that stamp and what you did with it – so cute! I too struggle with finding enough time to create – maybe because it takes me so long to do one single card! You have so many great ideas!
Wow! How pretty is that! Absolutely love it.
I hope your schedule calms down, look forward to whatever you post. Take are!
I haven’t been around much in the last month or so and rarely take the time to comment as I should, but I always think of you. Sounds strange for someone you don’t know to say that but Jaydee you made a big impression on me and many others- you have such a generous heart and a loving spirit.
Please do not worry about us not having cards to view. It sounds like you have so much on your plate right now. Do what you need to do and make notes when you get card inspiration. Then you’ll be ready to create when you have time.
Have a wonderful week.
Patty
Oh wow! You have created an awesome card with the colours Jaydee! I love your style here and was inspired to make a card using lots of white…I will be posting it soon!
I knew I had this set on my “wish list” for a reason! 🙂 I just needed the right inspiration…and here it is! This is so fun with your signature style! I love the scoring and the popped up panel. So much awesome detail and so clean at the same time. I understand the lack of mojo sometimes. I hope your feeling gets better soon and that things slow down a bit for you. Just think of it as a “creative hiatus”! 🙂 Big hugs to you!
What a wonderful clean and simple card to really showcase these wonderful flowers. And the simple knotted ribbon finishes it off beautifully. And I know just what you mean about getting into your stamp room and having a complete creative block. It’s frustrating, but it always seems to pass if I just walk away, clear my head, and try to relax. Creating is supposed to be fun, so I try not to make it a chore!
Clean and simple elegance, Jaydee. I love how you’ve embossed only part of the image with the versamark pen–so clever! I have one and have never, truly never, used it! But now I will! 🙂
hi jaydee!! thanks for the lovely comment on my Paper Players card!! what a perfect CAS card!! LOVE all that yummy white space!
