Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday night.
I have a sneek peak for you tonight. I was REALLY excited about this set – and this DSP -
when I saw it in the Summer Mini preview. I couldn't wait to get it. I HAD to make a card tonight. I know I will be getting lots of use out of the DSP and this stamp set. I love everything about the DSP. The theme; the colors; the masculine feel; the versatility for occasion. The stamp set is just as cool. I used several of the stamps on the inside and outside of the card.
This card also gave me a great excuse to pull out my spinners! I thought they were ideal with the compass stamp from this set.
Here's the inside of the card. Left blank for any occasion. (I thought that was appropriate as this card will be going off to the troops.)
I used a strip of the DSP from the outside on the lower part of the inside. I also used the compass stamp to tie the inside and outside together. I then stamped the map of the world onto the middle of the card.
Here's the outside:
Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up!

- Stamps: The Open Sea (available May 1 – 123032 – clear)
- DSP: Nautical Expedition (available May 1 – 122343)
- Inks: Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, River Rock, Soft Suede (all markers)
- Accessories: Game Spinner Hands (121893)
On a personal note….
mmmm… now I am off to finish the taxes. Yep, not finished yet :-) But I had to take a little break between work and finishing my taxes and at least play with my new goodies. I really was excited about receiving this set!
Today we finally saw the first green buds. 6 little daffodils are showing about 2 inches above the soil. Green stuff – finally!!! 🙂 There were three little tulip bulbs about 5 inches above the soil, too. However, the white tails like tulips. So, we are left with about 1 inch showing above the soil!
This morning was cold and gray. This afternoon was warm (in the 50s), sunny and absolutely glorious. I really can't wait for the warmer temperatures.
Oooooh…. before I go….. shout out to Lynn tonight… she is a proud new grammy to little Madeline! Congrats, Lynn. How absolutely wonderful for you all.
Warm hugs and prayers for those who need it tonight.
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.
Hugs
Jaydee

Yeah! Love this sneak peak, I was on the fence about this set but now you have me wanting it!!!!
Great sneak peek Jaydee! Thanks for sharing and so glad you got some play time!!!
I have this set ordered and can’t wait for it to arrive. I’m ABSOLUTELY CASEing this card. ;oP The set is so perfect for my sweetie as he is, when not creating fixes for computer programs and such, a map maker. :o)
Lynn, congrats on the new baby! How WONDERFUL! :o)
Jaydee, aren’t those first bulb shoots the best sign of spring? Before long, you’ll have the sweet fragrance of daffodils perfuming the air. Ahhhh…how I adore daffodils! :o)
Good luck with the taxes. How taxing they are. Oops, unintentional BAD pun there.
Hugs!
Great card! Thanks for enabling me, Jaydee. lol. Got to get this set & paper now ~ can’t wait for May Day.
Jaydee, what have you done?? 😉 I downloaded the digi papers this weekend and now I HAVE to have the stamps, too. I love how you matted the main image, so clean and classic. The game spinner is a perfect touch. I love everything about it! Hugs! 🙂
Love it! You are an *enabler* you know that? When I say I don’t need something and then come to see what you have been up too, well that is a huge mistake! 🙂
Thanks for sharing and only a few more days left for taxes! They are never nice to us, so I wait till the 15th and send in payment!
Have a great day….hey how is that finger(s)?
This card is amazing. You do such a wonderful job of showcasing the image with the clean lines of the card. And, as usual, your coloring adds just the right touch. Good luck on the taxes and I hope we can get together soon!
What a classy card you have created! Love it and that stamp set!
I wasn’t sure about this set, but ordered it anyway since so many of my customers request manly designs. Now I can’t wait for it the arrive this afternoon so I can CASE your beautiful design! Thanks for sharing.
First of all….THANKS for the sweet words about little Madeline. She IS a beauty – even if I say so myself! LOL!
Your card is just so amazing and beautiful. Love the use of the spinner too – absolutely PERFECT! Can’t wait to see the new sets in the upcoming catty – and can already tell you that this will be a “must have”!
