With Sympathy

Hi Everyone.  It's Friday, and I had declared last week that I would dedicate Friday's to feel good stories…. Feel Good Friday!

I thought long and hard about this post and what I was going to do and how I would say it.  I had decided that I would not post a card, nor would I post the feel good story I had planned for today.   Then I thought about it longer and harder and realized that Trish would have been very unhappy if I had done that.  So, let me start with the very sad news first and then I will go on to the feel good story.

This is part of a note I received this evening ….

It is with great sadness and regret that I am writing you this email.

My mother, Patricia Hoffman passed away this morning and has gone to live with our Lord.

I know that many of us have been expecting this day, especially considering the aggressive form of breast cancer that Trish had.  However, knowing that it is coming, just doesn't make it any easier.  I know that Trish is with her beloved cat Magic at Rainbow Bridge, and has been reunited with her beloved Father.  She spoke about them both often in her comments and missed them a great deal.  Trish's faith meant a great deal to her and her family, and all I can do is pray for them during this very difficult time.

I will miss Trish a great deal.  She was an amazing woman with a huge heart and an amazing soul.  She will be very dearly missed.  I know that many of you will miss her comments and her presence, too.

If you would like to send a card of sympathy to her family, please send me an email, or leave a comment and I will send her address to you.

Tonight, I ask that you pray not only for Trish, but also for her family who carry an enormous weight of loss and will need our prayers over the coming days.

I really hadn't felt like putting a feel good story on my blog….. but Trish always put others before herself and would be very angry at me if I didn't.  It's also the story that Trish would have loved.  So, I dedicate this post – and tonight's story to an incredible lady.  Trish…. I will truly miss you, my friend.

Prayers tonight for Trish – and her family.  For Germaine, T, Pri, Arthur, John and Sue, Lesley and Cyrus.

Hugs to you all

Jaydee

  1. Oh Jaydee, this is SO sad! But she’s home with the Lord in heaven! So we have to rejoice for HER, but I’m praying for her family who is left here without her.
Haven’t read your good story yet, Jaydee, I wanted to post this right away.
Hugs to you tonight, my friend,
    Susan

  2. Oh! Oh oh oh. Somehow I just wasn’t expecting this quite so soon. Oh my. I’m absolutely devastated. My prayers are certainly with Trish’s family. Thank you for letting us know.
As you and Susan and Trish’s daughter have said, she is with the Lord, and really, there is no more perfect place to be. She is at peace. Amen.
But, boy will she be missed. What an amazing woman.
Please email me her family’s address so I may send them my condolences.

  3. Oh, Jaydee…it is with sorrow that I write this. I remember when Trish and I first got to know each other. She had won some blog candy from me, and we had started emailing back and forth. It took me quite awhile to realize that the Trish I was emailing was “Jaydee’s Trish”! We laughed over that. I would like her family’s address. Her presence will be missed by all of her virtual friends…She and her family will be in my thoughts and in my prayers.

  4. Trish, my friend, you will be missed so much. May the perpetual light shine upon you.
I’m so sad we never got to meet in person and to have our girls get away weekend. In times like these I always regret all of the “we have to… we should…we need to plan…” that never get done. A harsh reminder that life is short and we shouldn’t waste a moment.
Jaydee, could you please share with us the names of Trish’s DD and her DH.
Warm thoughts, prayers, and hugs to all of my cyber friends.

  5. I am really at a loss of words! Even though I never met Trish I feel like I have known her all my life! She was such a wonderful lady! I truly thought of her as a “HERO”! She fought like a HERO! She will truly be missed! I know she is with the Lord now!
Jaydee- please e-mail me her family’s address so that I can send them my condolences!

  6. I just never expected this to happen so suddenly. I feel very blessed to have known Trish through cyberspace. How wonderful to have such friends. I am filled with sorrow at her passing. Please let me know the addresses for her family so I can send a card. We will all miss her comments.

  7. Oh I am so sorry to read that Trish passed away. It seems like it was just the other day she was telling us about sitting outside with a coat and mittens on. I am truly going to miss her emails and her comments. We have a pretty good group of friends here and when one is missing it is noticeable.
Please send me the address for a sympathy card.
Now I need to go read your feel-good story cause I am sad right now.
    Prayers for Trish’s family.

  8. Trish was an amazing person and I feel very blessed that we all had an opportunity to get to know her a little through your blog community. The way she lived her life after her diagnosis was inspiring. May we continue to feel her presence and be touched by all of the encouragement and support that she offered to everyone of us. God is blessed to have an angel like her in heaven.

  9. So sad to lose one of our blog “family members”. I will be praying for her family as they get through this tough time. So thankful that she is no longer suffering and in a much better place. Thanks for sharing the story about the kitty to put a smile back on my face. Please send me their address so that I may send a card.

  10. How so very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. She is at peace now.
Please send the address so I can send her family my condolences.
