Let’s be grateful……

Hi Everyone.

Happy Sunday night.  I hope you are all enjoying your long weekend.

Tonight's card highlights the fabulous Love Letter DSP and my second most favorite red…. Riding Hood Red.  I was thrilled when SU brought this color back.  Mind you…. my favorite color scheme for Christmas is Cherry Cobbler and Gold Metallic…. Ohhhhh… I had such fun playing with my goodies whilst waiting for Lou to get back from South America.

Ah…. talking about Lou…… anyone watch Project Runway?  For those of you that do…. you will remember Tim Gunn's famous line after the contestants have gone shopping for fabric….. "Say thank you, Mood!"  Well… for those of you who have been waiting for me to get a video camera to do some videos – you can all say….. "thank you, Lou!"  Lou went and found me a great video camera at Best Buy today at a phenomenally good price – and a great tripod.  In fact, I made…. well, we made…. our first video tonight!  Heavens, I'm not sure about this.  I actually HATE the sound of my own voice – and, listening to myself on the video makes me realize how much living with an Australian has polluted my English accent!

Tomorrow, I am going to try to make a video of the bow in this post.   Attempt to make a video that is!  I might even put my first video out for you… it's a real scream… what a mess….. mind you, I have NEVER, EVER, EVER shot a video before…. mmmmm… might be my last!  Janna, your comment today was very timely!

On to tonight's card.   I love this sentiment.  It's another one from the Wordsworth sets of sentiments.  It's a perfect sentiment to say thank you to all of you – I am grateful for all your support – and I know that you are all thankful for each others support, too!

Proust

Isn't that a great sentiment?   Isn't this DSP fabulous?  I love it mixed with the Very Vanilla satin ribbon and a button from the Regals collection.   I know I have said this before, but I will say it again, if you will indulge me….. I was really not impressed when Stampin' Up! announced the color renovation……. but, boy!  am I glad they did.  I really enjoy working with these new colors.  I'm also crazy about the new DSPs.

I have a couple new cards to show you featuring Angelic Joy and Peaceful Season.  Both are from the new Holiday Mini catalog.  I wasn't going to buy the Angelic Joy one, but I am so pleased that I did.

Prayers tonight for Trish…… Trish, it was wonderful to hear from you.  I think about you and pray for you every day.  Prayers also for Germaine, Pri, T, Arthur, John and Sue – and Lesley.

Have a wonderful Labor Day everyone.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Thank you Lou for the Video Camera and Tri-pod and accessories, Jaydee really loves all of it! Jaydee, remember to talk slowly and as if you are talking to third graders, really this helps a lot. I really like your Card for today, nice and simple, yet very enjoyable. The saying is so true to life. The DSP is Yummy. Great job.
Just a little side note…I made it outside today to sit on the Patio, it was so glorious. I spent several hours out there, me and Molly (the Cat of the house). I must have looked pretty funny though, I had on a knit cap, a jacket, mittens, and long pants, just ready for the North Pole to help out Santa. My counts are very low and I am very cold all of the time. I can’t have Chemo again until we bring up the blood counts. Good things that happened today, we picked huge cucumbers, and tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes from our garden. The broccoli are just starting to peak thier little heads, they are so cute. I love the fresh veggie’s so much better than the store bought. We plant so much that we share with our neighbors, so that they may enjoy it too.
Prayers for all, you are always on my mind and in my thoughts. I wish you all well and some Happiness in every day. Be glad and joyful for what you have, there is always someone that has less. Treasure your Friends everyday,be it 1 or 1,000, you never know when they may need you and just a simple “hi” would make all the difference in the world to them. Hold tight to Family be it large or small it is still a Family, celebrate it. My Love to All of you.

  2. THANK YOU LOU!!! I’ve been wanting to see a video of Jaydee making her BEAUTIFUL bows! I can’t wait to see it!
Your card is so pretty Jaydee! And I love the sentiment! So true!
Trish-glad to see you commenting! I love to read your comments! You speak(write) so easily! You always say the right words and with such ease! Hope you get better every second! I continue to pray for you and all my friends here!Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day!

  3. I too was overjoyed when they brought back Riding Hood Red. Of course, I now love Cherry Cobbler even more… Anyhow, the card is wonderful–love the sentiment.
Lou, THANK YOU! Jaydee, I was snorting with laughter over your comment about your polluted accent. Hee hee! After living with a bunch of Americans for 16 years, my friend, Paul’s accent is pretty mild. He went home for a visit and was accused of sounding like a Yank. Hee hee! Now, *I* don’t think he sounds like us, but…he’s definitely been polluted. ;o)
Trish, SO good to hear from you. I’ve been praying and praying for you. I’m sorry your counts are so low. This is a hard hard fight and you are amazing.
    Hugs!

  4. Oh I love this card! I will have to check out the source of your sentiment. I wish SU had more sentiment sets.
I will be looking forward to hearing and seeing you and your work now that you are a video camera owner! Thanks Lou!
Maybe I will learn the secrets of your fantastic bows!

  5. Yay for Lou, wonderful guy, as always! I can’t wait to see what you do with your new toy. Speaking of polluted accents…have you heard my husband? Arthur sees a physician this week (finally). Let’s hope we find out a course of action.
Trish, I hope you warm up soon and your counts go up. I was wearing my flannel jammies this week too!

  6. Jaydee, you have such a knack for cards! This one is just lovely! Do you mind letting me know what the name of the die is that you used for the focal sentiment? It’s beautiful!
Will be looking forward to your upcoming videos…and Trish’s tips above are really good. It takes a while before you get used to hearing yourself, as we sound soooo different inside our heads!
    Blessings,
    Chris in Alberta, Canada

  7. Chris…. the nestabilities die is the Labels Die 10. It’s very pretty, isn’t it!
Let me know if you need any other info.
