The Paper Players Challenge # 14 – Clean and Simple – Just Believe

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday night.

The Paper Players challenge this week is CLEAN AND SIMPLE.  Well, I know that there are many of you who do that so well, so we hope that you will consider joining us this week.  The design team really does enjoy looking at each of your wonderful creations.

For my card, using the beautiful JUST BELIEVE set, I decided to create a picture frame.  I've been wanting to try this treatment, as it really adds great depth to your card, but still allows you to keep a clean and simple profile.

I chose colors that are highly unusual for me…. Pink and Green!  Mmmm…. you don't see me doing many cards with those colors.

I also used one of my embossing plates, some Crystal Effects, ribbon, glitter and pearls.  Yet, the overall effect is still clean and simple.  I was really pleased with it once I had completed the card.  It is also one of those rare occasions where I didn't add a sentiment.  My dear friend Brenda convinced me that it was quite OK – and sometimes very appropriate, just to leave a card with a sentiment on the inside.  She was right!

Isn't that pretty?  It really is unusual for me to create cards that you can absolutely define as – pretty!  But the soft colors, the glittered flowers, the beautiful satin ribbon and the gentle embossing, all lead up to a very pretty card.

It has an ethereal quality to it and I love the fact that the flowers are placed into an oval that I cut into the top card stock.  I left a slight indentation around the oval to create an almost imperceptible frame, too.

Here's a closeup for you.

I will be back tomorrow morning to give you full deets on the card including…..sizing, how it was created, supplies, etc.

Right now, I'm off to go get the post ready on the Paper Players site, so that you can see the design team cards tomorrow, plus I need to go and get ready as Lou and I are going to dinner.  He got back from Buenos Aires mid-afternoon.   Right now, he is fast asleep on the couch in my stamping space…. oh yeah…. and Prince Charlie (aka Pipsqueak aka King Arthur) is fast asleep with him.  I'll post a pic for you tomorrow of Pipsqueak in his favorite spot!

Prayers for:  Trish, Germaine, John and Sue, Arthur, T, Pri, Cyrus… and Lesley.

As always, thank you for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visits are always greatly appreciated – as are your comments!

Hugs

Jayde
