Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. We certainly did! 🙂
Last week, I told you that Sunday's would be Featured Stamper (FS) days. Splitcoaststampers has their featured stamper challenge on Saturday's and I am trying to make sure that I do one of these challenges on a weekly basis. However, instead of doing an FS challenge for you this week, I have the real deal. A real featured stamper.
A person whose works of art were so fabulous, I didn't even want to even attempt to do a version of them. She's known as geekgirl101 on SCS and you can see her fabulous works at this link.
Before we see the cards that she made – I'd like to do a BIG shout-out tonight.
To the amazing person who sent me flowers for my birthday!!!!! Lou and I got home this afternoon from our weekend away and found a little note in our postbox saying that flowers were waiting at our neighbor for me. (We weren't home when they were delivered, so our kind neighbors took care of them!) Lou said to me, "who sent you flowers?" Well…. from that question, I guessed they were not from him :-) I opened the wrapping on the vase to see this gorgeous spring arrangement in pinks, whites, lilacs and greens. Brimming with my favorite flowers and a balloon covered in gorgeous spring colored butterflies that said…. "thinking of you". I opened the card and they were from TRISH. They were so beautiful and, along with the note, brought tears to my eyes. Trish… you are one amazing lady. I am so pleased I met you through my blog. (I have a photo of the gorgeous flowers and the pic will be on my blog tomorrow night.) Many, many thanks, big hugs, lots of love and bless you, my friend. You are truly amazing.
My second shout it is to geekgirl101. I saw a card on the gallery on scs a couple of weeks ago and it was so intriguing that I absolutely had to go take a closer look. It was fabulous. I then noticed that the same person had done another similar card – that was also gorgeous. They were like works of art. I left a comment on the card saying that it was beautiful enough to frame. Well… blow me down with a feather, if geekgirl101 didn't send me an email asking for my address, because she wanted to send me the cards! I was gobsmacked. I was also very honored. They really area beautiful and I have great pleasure in featuring them for you. My pics just cannot do these little works of art justice
Isn't it gorgeous. geekgirl says she loves doing inchies and twinchies – and these are little individual 1" masterpieces. Backing them with textured Basic Black card stock was a masterpiece. It really brought out the amazing color and detail.
Here's the second one.
I loved the 3 inchies here – once again, all of them are little works of art and yet together creative a cohesive whole. The fact that the fourth square was filled with a sentiment, which was embossed silver, really took the card to another amazing level.
I LOVE the little butterfly on the top right hand inchie. The colors are so beautiful together and the fact that the same colors are used on all the inchie backgrounds, allows the eye to travel around in a square and the black background provides for no distractions.
So… I hope you love looking at these cards as much as I do. Geekgirl101… thank you for sending them my way – they are truly beautiful. Please pop along to geekgirls gallery on splitcoaststampers, you will find so much inspiration in her gallery.
Later this week, I will also be featuring some of the absolutely fabulous birthday cards I received. I can't wait to show them to you.
A shout out to my DH for a wonderful weekend. It was incredible just to spend a couple of days celebrating each other, catching the sights, having fabulous dinners together and listening to some truly fabulous music. Oh… and shopping didn't spoil the weekend either. Mind you… I'm guessing some of you may want to know what it is I wanted for my birthday… other than all the great goodies in the mini :-) Mmmm… was it from Tiffany's and came in a little turquoise box? No. mmmmm… was it fabulous underwear that came from Victoria's Secret…. NO (mind you they don't have bras in my size, either!) 🙂
Was it sparkly and came attached to a little circle that goes around the wrist, neck or finger. No! Ok… so… sit down, 'cos none of you will believe this. It was bedding from West Elm!!!! I know… I know… of all the things I could have wanted and Lou would have bought me… I chose organic bedding! No comment!
To all my wonderful blogging friends – THANK YOU for making my day special. I really appreciated… and I mean REALLY appreciated the comments, the cards, the flowers, the support – THANK YOU. I am truly blessed.
Have a fabulous Monday everyone.
Hugs
Jaydee

Hi Jaydee, are you still on a Magical High from your Birthday doings? I hope that the memory and High from it last a very long time for you. You are most welcome for the flowers, as it was the least I could do, since I did not have a card ready to send. I checked out Geekgirl101’s Gallery, and yes she does have some fantastic cards in there. I really like the two that you picked. The coloring is a bit different on SCS’s Gallery, and it makes the Cards look even better than they already are. They are going to look wonderful framed and put wherever you decide thier final resting place should be. I really like the second Card the best, with the sentiment and 3 inches. I love the look of that layout and am going to have to give that one a try myself. The textured cardstock looks like real canvas that the pictures are matted on and thus makes them look like paintings. Please share with us again, once you get them framed. I would love to see them. May you also have a terrific Monday. Smile, it makes people wonder what you’ve been up to. hee, hee.
Cyber hugs, Trish in Wisconsin
Sounds like you had a perfect birthday celebration!
I like the little inchies too! They are individual pieces of art on these cards! I will have to look thru geekgirls gallery soon and get some more inspiration!
Thanks for sharing.
Love your cards! the colours are fabulous! TFS, Hugs always! G
Trish,
I would be very happy to adopt you, and you can have anything from the Mini, as long as you keep sending flowers. Your taste in flowers is fantastic…I know that Jaydee just loved them…they are beautiful. It really made her day.
To all the other lovely ladies who have wished Jaydee a Happy Birthday well wishes, thank you so much. It really made her day just that extra special and memorable. She really does appreciate your comments and wonderful support. Jaydee often says that its her blog followers what makes her want to get down stairs and do stuff in her stamping space….Her blog is also the first thing she check when she gets up in the morning, checking for your emails and your comments.
So for that from both Jaydee and I thank you.
To Geekgirl101…your cards rock…they are absolutely fantastic, your artistic flair and color work is amazing.
Have a great week Ladies and keep the fantastic cards coming. You are all very talented.
