Picture Perfect for Festive Friday #FF0140

Happy Friday.

It’s another challenge across at Festive Friday.  Festive Friday is a bi-weekly card making challenge where we feature a holiday or festivity from around the world.  For my card today, I used an old set from My Favorite Things called Picture Perfect.  I love the animals in this set – they are so darned cute!

So, what could we possibly be celebrating at Festive Friday with a silly pale grey cat and a slightly befuzzled darker grey dog?

World Photography Day!  I love the INSPO list for this week’s challenge.  I’m of an age when black and white were the only photos we knew 🙂  I had such fun watercoloring this image from the Picture Perfect set.  I used some Stampin’ Up! DSP called Zoo Crew DSP.  I love the black and white patterns on the back side of the printed animals and have used this DSP quite a lot recently for cards I made for SendASmile4Kids.  It worked perfectly for this week’s challenge, too.

I die-cut a photo strip frame for the “photo” and sandwich the image between 3 different layers of the photo frame.  I decided to do a litle water color wash rather than Copic coloring.  For some reason, and I don’t know why, watercoloring has suddenly become my preferred coloring method.  Actually, thinking about it, it was the fault of the Zoo Crew DSP!  The images are watercolored and I thought they looked great… so, that was my inspiration 🙂

Here’s my full card:

INSPO list words used:  Black, white, aperture, squares, photo strip
