Happy Sunday.
Well, that was a lot of aliteration:-) It’s the fabulous Claire’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s sketch week. Claire put together a very versatile sketch for us and I pulled out a brand new set called Positively Peanuts and paired it with some La-La-Land paper called Winter Forest. Here’s a sneak peek:

Seriously, what is better than Snoopy hanging out on his dog house!!!??
Here’s Claire’s sketch:

I began my card by stamping the Snoopy image onto Neenah Solar white 110# cardstock and then colored it with Copic markers before fussy cuttin around it.
I then brought out some dies that I received as part of the Jennifer McGuire crafty box I was lucky enough to receive last year. Yes, I am still using things from that box that I have never used before!! The scalloped edge came from the Simon Says Stamp Slimline Borders and Edges set. I die-cut one piece of pale blue cardstock twice using the same scallop die. That provided me with the horizontal element I needed for the sketch.
I stamped a “hello” onto navy cardstock and heat set it with opaque embossing powder. I cut a piece of the La-la-land paper and popped up my Snoopy over the top of that. I wanted it to look as though Snoopy was nestled in the trees watching the snowflakes fall 🙂
Here’s my card:

I hope you will join us and play along with Claire’s sketch this week. We would love to see what YOU create using it. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, I bet some of you are wondering where on earth I got the Positively Peanuts stamps. I’ve looked for decent Snoopy stamps for years and never found them. Lo and behold a UK magazine called Creative Stamping (a mag that I never normally buy) gave this set away as part of their issue number 556. As it is a UK based magazine I had friends and family trying to chase down a copy of it. Yeah. That wasn’t happening. I looked on ebay and people were paying over $100 for this specific copy of Creative Stamping. Yeah, that wasn’t going to happen either. I mean I love it – but not $100+ love it. If you get what I mean. One of my nieces works in a book shop and she even tried to find one among her book shop friends. No dice. She tried the distributor. No dice. I called Barnes and Noble. No dice. Two weeks later, on a whim, Lou popped into Barnes and Noble and there it was. One lonely copy of issue number 556. He called me and asked if I wanted it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Of course I want it!!! So, after my family and friends tried just about every major grocery store (they sell magazines there!) and newsagents for nearly two weeks, we found one less than a mile away! I don’t think I need to say that it will be in my craft collection for a while 🙂
After receiving 16″ of snow last week today the temperature reached 77 degrees. Oh, it was just wonderful standing outside letting the sun warm my sun-heat starved body. After 5 minutes I was too hot and had to come indoors. I mean, it’s Minnesota in March and we are used to near zero and sub-zero temps so 77 at this time of the year feels incredibly hot. Mind you, the temps are going to drop over 30 degrees by tomorrow morning! Welcome to Spring in Minnesota.
As it is Spring, we managed to get out and decorate our front area with some fun bunnies and a new mat. I’ll post a couple of photos next week. The bunnies are awfully cute! Needless to say, the cats are out in the sunroom soaking up the warmth. Smudgie is particularly addicted to the sun. He follows it around the house all day and has found the perfect spot in the sunroom. It’s in the south-east corner and he can sit there from early morning to early afternoon and bake:-)
The house is back to normal after the upheaval of the builders and we are getting ready for the next round – upgrading the master bathroom! If we thought there was dust with the stair update, that’s nothing compared to what we are going to get with the bathroom. My hope is that I can fit in a freestanding tub. Oh, I so miss the tub that we had in our old house. I love relaxing in a warm bath and have seriously missed it! It’s also a chance for us to eradicate the black and white theme that was the design style of the people we bought the house from. Black and white and look fabulous, but I just tend to lean towards warmer colors, especially in the cold depths of a Minnesota winter!
I’ll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Stamps: Positively Peanuts – Creative Stamping
- Paper: Winter Forest – La-La-Land
- Scallop dies: Slimline Borders and Edges – Simon Says Stamp

Jaydee, I could wait to comment on this card. I love Snoopy and you know my son is my “Joe Cool”! I love the winter setting and Snoopy looks perfect relaxing on top of his doghouse watching the snow fall. I love how this scene just pops off the black background . The story of finding the magazine is incredible. It was certainly worth the search. I would hold on to Snoopy forever! Thank you for making my sketch shine! Have a great week, My Friend! Can’t wait to see all your remodel pictures. I want to remodel my master bathroom, too. It is so dated, but not ready to live in the mess. LOL! Good luck!
Well, how fun is Snoopy, looking at the snowfall! I have a friend who would love this—our church office is decorated with all things Peanuts, LOL! I love your background paper and that fun little scallop too! So happy you didn’t give up on your Snoopy search!
What a fabulous Snoopy stamp, Jaydee! What a tale behind finding it! Hooray for Lou! The La-La-Land paper is the perfect wintry backdrop for Snoopy. I can just imagine him watching the snow fall. I would never have imagined a Snoopy card could give off such serene vibes, but this one does. LOVE it! Have a wonderful week!
Oh My Goodness! This is a terrific use of the sketch but that stamp is adorable! I’m so glad for your perseverance and that you now have a wonderful Snoopy stamp to use over and over. Your card is fantastic!
Best wishes for your next project!
Your Snoopy card is adorable, Jaydee! I love the snowy scene behind his doghouse and that font on the greeting is perfectly reminiscent of newspaper typeface. And good for you for being tenacious until you finally scored that magazine with the stamps in it! Years ago there was a British cross stitch magazine that had a gorgeous peacock pattern in it and it took me three months to track down a copy, but eventually I did and my mom has the peacock I stitched hanging up over her fireplace 🙂 Have a wonderful week!
So cute! I LOVE SNOOPY! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A Snoopy stamp! It’s almost as wonderful as the story of how you got it! Great choice of font for the greeting too. I’m not surprised to read that this one is a keeper – and look forward to seeing what else is in the set. 🙂
I absolutely love this card Jaydee! Your Snoopy is soooo cute and I love the scenic banner detail behind. I totally know that feeling of trying to track down an elusive book or magazine – if you ever need anything here in the UK, I am more than happy to go on the hunt for you!
Jaydee, all I can say is that you have good karma and a wonderful husband on the lookout for your long sought-after magazine. And what a super cute card you made with it! I recognize that La La Land paper and it’s perfect for his backdrop…maybe he’s in the snowy woods in Minnesota? *wink wink*
