Pinkfresh Studio Thinking of You for Paper Players Challenge #785

Happy Sunday.

It’s the fabulous Claire’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s color week!

I decided it was time to use some florals. It’s beginning to feel like spring here in our little part of the world. Mind you, we have had frost warnings several nights this week! However, the sun is starting to feel warm, the leaves are out on the trees and the birds are singing. Ah, there is nothing better than a Minnesota spring after a loooooong Minnesota winter:-)

Here’s a sneak peek of my card:

Yep, this color scheme features my favorite color…. purple…. not :-). Even though it’s not my favorite color, I did have fun playing with this fresh color palette.

Mmmmm…. so purple might not be my favorite color – but Coastal Cabana is even further down the list of favorites! However, I embraced the colors and went for it!

I created a hot foiled version of the florals and used my stencils to color the florals in the colors from the challenge.

I added a large sentiment from a set from The Ton called Fill It In. I needed to ground the florals, so I brought out my purple and blended some on the background. For the lower part of the floral, I needed some Coastal Cabana. All that was left to do was mount the florals with foam strips and my card was complete.

Here’s my full card:

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for us:

  1. These may not be your favorite colors, Jaydee, but you’ve made a perfectly elegant card with them. Your stenciling skills are masterful and I love the soft wash of color on the card front, I always end up with unintended dark patches when I try doing that. That large and in charge greeting on the right side is very fun, too. Have a wonderful week!

  2. WOW! What a perfect job of stenciling, Jaydee! You did a great job with Claire’s colors. What a statement this card makes! This floral image works so well with the bold and unique sentiment. Have a wonderful week!

  3. Jaydee, you certainly made my colors shine even if you found them difficult to work with. I LOVE this card. The stenciling and the soft wash of color is beautiful! The big, bold, graphic sentiment is just fabulous and just pops off the white background. The floral image is so pretty, too! This card would make anyone feel special! Thank you for making my colors shine! Have a beautiful week, My Friend!

  4. Out of your comfort zone, but definitely into a great card! The design/layout of this is stunning in design and your colors bring Spring straight to mind.

  5. Jaydee you would never know these colours weren’t popular with you – you’ve done a tremendous job and I love absolutely everything about this card! The pretty foiled blossom, the delicate blending behind and especially that layered vertical sentiment – so cool! Really beautiful.

  6. I really love your card and these colors ARE a few of my favorites. Thanks for sharing this wonderful CAS card.

  7. Your card is very elegant and I think the colours worked really well for lavender – in fact, I considered using lavender stamps. Glad I didn’t because yours is so lovely.

  8. What I really love about this card is the combination of the soft pretty florals along with the large, graphic sentiment. It’s so eye catching, Jaydee! The foiling adds a bit of glam and I had to smile about the teensy bit of Coastal Cabana included on the stem lol! It’s a gorgeous creation!
