Happy Thursday.
It’s another challenge across at Time Out this week and it’s a great one. In fact, it features one of my favorite things! I was inspired to bring out my Concord & 9th Greatest Hits set and some fun paper.
Here’s a sneak peek:

I think you might have guessed the challenge :-). Oh, I still remember those days of rifling through vinyl records in racks in my local music store. I also remember the anticipation you felt as you lifted the arm from the record player and placed it on the vinyl. That moment of anticipation before the music started to play. Oh, and the days of hairs and scratches that caused your vinyl to go bump or play the same sound over and over. Mind you, it was better than trying to put reel-to-reel tapes back together when they broke or twisted!!!
Anyway, I digress. Our challenge this week is sponsored by the fabulous Gina K and she is offering a $25 store credit for the winner of our challenge this week. Talking about winners. We are also joined by Cindy. Cindy’s project received Honorable Mention for Time Out #308 and we were so happy that she was willing and able to join us as Guest Designer for this challenge. I hope you check out her fabulous card here.
Here’s our challenge badge for this week:

My card was a breeze to put together. I pulled out yet another piece of my old SU paper that I hoard for cards like this. I used a piece for the vertical layer and another for the jacket of the vinyl. I die-cut the record from black cardstock – don’t you just love that ridged detail?!
I stamped a sentiment and heat set it with white embossing powder and added a few stars to finish my card. Here’s my full card

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge. We would love to see what YOU create using our theme. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you.
And, don’t forget, we have a give-away courtesy of Gina K for the winner!

I’ll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight

Jaydee, I love your post and the trip down memory lane it gave me. Your card has all the necessary details like the record, the sleeve, the coordinating paper in the background the the perfect sentiment! What a fabulous card for this challenge!
Jaydee, you’ve sent us all on a beautiful, musical trip down memory lane! Your card is fantastic, I just adore the throwback, retro feel of this set and your card. Your memories are fun too!
What a wonderful card Jaydee! So full of memories of the days when records were the thing!! Love all the design elements you added to bring it to life! Love it! so special! 🙂
I absolutely love this card, and I really loved your (perfect) description of the joys of listening to vinyl back in the day. I know it is a thing again, but those days were magical. I wore some of my favorite albums white like Neil Young’s After The Gold Rush and Joni Mitchell’s Blue. I had to replace them! Thanks for those lovely images evoked by your words… What a great make for our challenge.
I gave all my vinyl records to my brother who has a rather extensive collection and he in turn took some of my old 45s from high school and made them into CDs for me. I love your card, Jaydee, and it is one I would send him for his birthday if I had the set.
Wow, what a fantastic card, Jaydee!! It reminds me of my old days when we use to exchange the CD’s with our friends. So nostalgic!! Thank you for taking me back to my Teen days. Hugsxx Deepti
