Hero Arts Bees and Flowers for Festive Friday Challenge #209

Happy Friday.

It’s another INSPO challenge across at Festive Friday this week and we are celebrating a theme very close to my heart. It inspired me to bring out a very old set from Hero Arts called Bees and Flowers. It’s a wonderful set of dies that has survived many purges of my craft supplies!

Here’s a sneak peek:

Yes, we are celebrating World Bee Day. As far as I am concerned we should celebrate these little guys every day. Did you know that approximately 75% of fruits, nuts and vegetables grown in the US are pollinated by bees? Apparently that constitutes about 1 bite in every 3 that we take. That’s a lot of work for these little guys. It’s also one of the reasons we try to keep our gardens free of pesticides to try to help them as much as we can.

Here’s our fabulous INSPO list for this challenge. As a reminder, you don’t need to follow the theme, we just ask that you add at least 3 of the elements from our INSPO list to your creation.

I chose to create a square card this week, something I don’t do very often! I added a black panel that had been run through my Sizzix with an old SU embossing folder that gave me lots of texture. I popped that up from the card base with a couple of layers of spare card stock.

I then die-cut all of the elements and colored them with my Copic markers. I added a sentiment and some black gems to finish off my card.

Here’s my full card:

INSPO Elements: Black, Yellow, Bees, Flowers, Black Gems

As always our design team have some fabulous inspiration for you. I hope you will check out their creations and then join us as we celebrate the industrious little bees that help us eat :-). We would love to see what YOU create from our INSPO list.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
