Happy Thursday.
So, the talented team across at Just Us Girls have a fabulous inspiration photo for us. Heavens, those colors took me back to the glory days of the 60s and early 70s. The colors may have felt vintage, but the inspiration photo was bang up to date and on trend! I was inspired to make TWO cards for this challenge and they are both VERY different. Tonight I’m showcasing a set that I thought I would never find quite the right challenge for. It’s called Illuminated Scenes and it’s from Altenew.
Here’s a sneak peek:
Neon orange, turquoise and warmer oranges. I swear I was wearing those exact colors in the early 70s. Actually, they were on a air of trousers. Mmmm… maybe I shouldn’t admit that. Mind you, they were matched with a truly fabulous pair of turquoise platform shoes -)
Anyway, I digress. Here’s the inspiration photo:
Creating this card was easy. The hardest part was trying to find the right colors to match. I didn’t quite have the red/orange, but got as close as I could.
I stamped and then stenciled the image and stamped and die-cut a sentiment. I mounted the focal image onto a lagoon background and lifted it from the base with a couple of extra layers of spare card stock.

I added a little light shading to mimic the florring of the photo and the sentiment is popped up with a couple of extra layers of die-cut sentiments.
Even if you decide not to play along with the challenge you REALLY have to go and check out the AMAZING creations from the design team. WOW!
Now my mind is full of 60s and 70s fashion and music, I’m going to go and sing Hey, Hey We Are the Monkeys in my shower. BTW – Peter Tork you had my heart 🙂
