Happy Wednesday.
The fabulous team across at Freshly Made have another great sketch for us and I couldn’t wait to play along. A couple of months ago we were saying baking themed cards everywhere, but I haven’t seen as many recently. However, for some reason, I decided the Spellbinders Fluff, Frost and Roll set would work perfectly for this sketch! Yeah… I know. Seriously, florals would have worked wonderfully, but I decided to pfaff around with little bits and pieces of baking related items. And, I loved every minute of it!
Here’s a sneak peek:

Oh, I love that embossed background! It’s called Confection Companions and was part of the same release as the Fluff, Frost and Roll dies.
Here’s the sketch from FreshlyMade

Now, that sketch has a few more layers than I normally use, but I decided to lean into it and embrace those layers :-). One thing I couldn’t work out was the color scheme. I am so often drawn to the same colors and decided it was time to go looking through my Color Cubes. I found there is a section called Sugar Rush in the new version of the Color Cube and that seemed like the perfect place to look.
I found a color selection that I would never normally use, but decided I loved it! I die-cut the fish slice, spatula, whisk, wooden spoon and piping back and adhered the various parts together. I then cut a piece of cardstock for the focal layer and embossed that with the Confection Companions embossing folder.
I stamped and die-cut a sentiment from the Baked With Love set from Waffleflower. I thought the whisk sentiment would work really well with the die-cut elements.
I layered the various pieces together and my card was ready:

Aren’t those elements fabulous? I did back them with another layer of die-cut utensils to give them a little added strength. I love the detail the embossing folder gives and really do love these colors together.
Oh, here’s the color card – sorry it’s a little blurry!:

I know the FMS team would love it if you played along with their challenge this week. Mmmmm…. I think I might have to give in and create a floral card with the sketch 🙂
I’ll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Fluff, Frost and Roll – Spellbinders
- Embossing Folder: Confection Companions – Spellbinders
- Sentiment: Baked with Love – Waffleflower

You have the BEST dies! This is wonderful! The elements are fabulous and the sentiment is a hoot!
Cute layers! Your utensils and embossed background are definitely a perk to the card. I’m fond of baking (when it isn’t 100+ outside), and love these food elements.
I whisk I had this set! What a fabulous card and the colours are beautiful! I allways look forward to seeing your beautiful creations in the FMS gallery.
