Hi everyone. happy Wednesday.
Today is Lou's birthday. Lou categorically told me that he did not, in any way, want to celebrate his birthday and wanted to breeze right past this year.
Really???? So, being the cantankerous wife that I am :-), I decided to make a big deal out of it here on my blog and I am hoping that you will all help me do that.
I made 3 different cards to help Lou celebrate his birthday (remember he didn't want any!) and I will be sharing each one over the next three days.
A couple of weeks ago I promised birthday blog candy to help celebrate Lou's big day and I have a fabulous give-away for you. Anyone that leaves a comment – or sends me an email – with birthday wishes for Lou, will be entered into the draw for a prize that has a street value of $70. Any comment or email between now and when my Paper Players post goes live early Sunday morning will be counted. If you want multiple chances to win the blog candy – you can respond on each of the posts.
What's the blog candy on offer? It's the Tonic Craft Kit #13 Snowflake Gift Card Box. I've been waiting to add this as blog candy as the timing for it is perfect. You can see all the details on the craft kit at this link: https://www.tonic-studios.com/pages/tonic-craft-kit-13-snowflake-gift-card-box
You can also find lots of inspiration here: https://www.tonic-studios.com/pages/kit13-inspiration
As Lou told me he likes the jigsaw cards that I have been giving him, I started the day off with a jigsaw card. He's been trying to get it completed while he has been on conference calls this morning.
I used the fabulous new set Heartland from Stampin' Up! to create this one layer card. I stamped the image onto Neenah Solar White card stock and watercolored it with my Zig brush markers with a small amount of water. Once it was completely dry, I ran it through my Big Shot with my jigsaw die.
Lots of wonderful white space to make it harder to put the puzzle together!
So, I hope you will join me and play along with this little bit of fun – and be entered into win the fabulous tonic craft kit, perfect for the upcoming holiday season.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
Card recipe:
- Card stock: Neenah Solar White
- Stamps: Heartland – Stampin' Up!
- Die: Impression Obsession puzzle die

Well, OF COURSE I would wish Lou a happy birthday!! He’s crazy not to want to celebrate…at least with a card of some sort!! You give him a big hug from Pennsylvania, LOL! And I love his card….reminds me of our old barn, which is long since gone!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOU!!! Don’t celebrate birthday—-celebrate anniversaries of your 29th birthday!!! 🙂
I love barns and this is so pretty, coloring is magnificent as always.
A very happy birthday to Lou from Yorktown VA. Yes, he deserves a bevy of wishes.
What do you mean, not celebrate your birthday? Even I celebrated mine last year – 81 years young to boot! My niece had a birthday luncheon for me and baked an angel food cake from scratch like my sister did so many years ago. She was 18 when I was born and was more like my mom than my sister. If I lived near you I would do the same for you. They are the best. Enjoy your day.
Well of course I will send Lou a Happy Birthday greeting!! Yes, you need to celebrate each & every year that we are given here on earth to enjoy our wonderful surroundings!! What’s the alternative?? Not the greatest!! Have a full & wonderful birthday, Lou.
Happy Birthday, Lou. Celebrate this day to the fullest and enjoy every moment.
Happy Birthday Lou and many more. Love the idea of a puzzle card and your card is great, Jaydee. Nice to see SU goodies on your blog!
Happy Birthday Lou.
I say any day with a jigsaw puzzle in it is a good day.
I have spent many “hold time” doing them.
I agree with you about birthday celebrations.
Celebrate each day being thankful for a lovely caring wife,
Good health and happiness.
May you be blessed with many more days to celebrate.
