A Little of this, and a little of that…. and another blog candy

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday.

I hope you are all having a great week!

So.. we have a winner of the Did we or didn't we visit the house challenge – see here.  I took the correct answers, numbered them from top to bottom and put them into a random number generator.  The winner is

PAT P!

Pat, please send me your physical address and I will package up your Stampin' Up! umbrella and send to you this weekend.  Congratulations!

I'm guessing you want to know the answer to the question:-)  Well, the answer is NO.  We didn't go to the house, we didn't drive by the house – in fact – we didn't go within 20 miles of it!  OH!!!!! I SO wanted to… but I knew that it would spoil the surprise for next week.  So, we went and looked at furniture, had some lunch, and then came back home.   Honestly.. I really wanted to go… but just couldn't!

So… what do we have on offer tonight?   Errr…. how about a brand-new, in the box, Stampin' Card Keeper.  You can't get these any longer and I love mine.  You can see my post here with the pictures of the one that I made up.  and here's a pic of my finished version of the box

Cardkeeper

The lucky winner will receive the unfinished version – packed in it's SU packaging ready for complete customization!

So, what do you have to do to be in the running for this fabulous blog candy?

Let's try something a little different tonight.  Let's focus on Lou.   I'm going to show you 3 desks and you can choose the one that you think Lou wants in his office.  For those of you that choose the right one, I will put you all into the draw for the brand new Stampin' Up! Card Keeper storage box.

I'm going to label them as 1, 2, 3 – all you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post saying which one you think Lou wants – and you can even comment on the desk itself, if you like!

Does he want desk 1, desk 2 or desk3?

Our current house is a disaster!  Seriously!  It is also like an echo chamber as so many things have gone to recycling or to charity, paintings that are not being left for staging have been taken off the walls and are standing on the floor ready to be packed.  We have so few pots and pans that are out – all the others have been packed.  The wardrobe looks sooooo empty as we have the barest minimum of clothing left in the walk in closet.  With only 6 more sleeps…. we still have so much to do inside – and outside!

At our new home, tomorrow the painting touch up will be completed and all that is left is the final adjustments to the windows and doors, and cleaning.  That's it!  It's so hard to believe that the house is actually a house and that it is finished!   I'm so excited about arriving at the house on Wednesday, but am nervous about finding that I made the wrong decisions on colors and tile, door handles and knobs, light fittings, etc.  aaaargh 🙂

The poor pussycats have been to the vets for their innoculations and checkups.  Some handled it far better than others.  Bailey and Sam had heart rates of 80 and 85. They were so relaxed they were almost horizontal.  Even Merlin, our old man, only had a heart rate of 100.  the rest… well.. you can say they were a little stressed.  Poor Charlie – his heart rate was 198!!!!   However, I am very pleased to say that he behaved himself beautifully today.  The last time he went to the vet they  had to handle him with kevlar gloves and he tried to bite and attack anyone that came near him.  After being with us for a year, he has learned that he can trust people and all he did to announce his displeasure was hiss.  I think he's entitled to that 🙂

I want to thank all of you who added our vet to your prayer list.  I am thrilled to say that she is coming home from hospital tomorrow.  She has a long recovery at home ahead of her, but … she is on the mend and coming home.  So thank you!

As always, thank you so much for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visits really do mean a great deal to me and I really appreciate your patience as I blather on as I don't have any cards to show you!

Warm hugs and prayers to those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. I’m going to go with desk #1 since it has extra storage. Seem to always need that in an office. Our house is completely lacking in storage, so anything that adds it, is a huge plus.
I’m glad all the furbabies did well at the vet. Need to take my 2 little girls (shih tzus) in for their shots & checkup so they can get to grooming.

  2. I’m guessing desk #3. I’m excited for you and your new house, but especially delighted your vet is recovering.z

  3. well this came at the right time. i leave for surgery in a few hours and need a diversion. hmmm, desk number 1–masculine, plenty of storage for all his ‘stuff’ to keep out of sight and always neat and tidy. love the wood and textures and differnt heights. Lucky Lou getting a new desk. thanks for sharing as you always do.
    stay well,
    annmarie

  4. I’m going with #2. Strikingly different. Reminds me of an airplane, and he spends alot of time flying around the world! My husband went with simple and not the clutter for storage – just seems like a guy thing to me! #1 looks like a female choice and #3 would be too obvious, so #2 is my top pick for Lou – a guys guy.

  5. I’m going with Desk #1. I bet you’ll get to your new home and LOVE all of your choices. How very exciting for you. I look forward to the photos.

  6. I would like to pick #2 for Lou, its been a long, long time since I have left you a comment Jaydee – have e-mailed you many times, but never heard from you… well we both seem to be busy doing great things in our lives!! Hugs always! G

  7. #1 – such a masculine looking looking unit with plenty of storage space

  8. Hi Jaydee!
I am going with desk #1 even though desk #3 was nagging at me!

  9. Hi Jaydee and Lou! I’m glad to hear that you waited to visit your new home. Less than a week away, SO exciting for you both!
All 3 of these desks are beautiful. I’m picking desk #2 for Lou. Clean modern lines and quite different to start out in a new home. But I’ll bet you’ll have lots of storage elsewhere in the office as in the picture. Leather jacket hanging up in the background…it just looks like Lou to me.
So wonderful that your vet gets to come home today! She has a long road, I’m sure, but it quickens from home. “There’s no place like home!”

  10. Hi Jaydee-
I like all three desks. They are all very different in style but after thinking about your house and the chairs that you picked I am going with desk #3. I chose this because its tradistional yet modern. And since you have fantastic views at the new house he can position it to look out the windows and watch nature as he works, which you can’t do with desk #1. And it offers some private storage, which desk #2 doesn’t offer. So #3 it is!

  11. I am so happy to hear that your vet is coming home-great progress! I will continue to pray for her, I am sure she has a long recovery ahead.
I am going with desk 2! The reason I chose it-crazy probably-the chair looks really comfortable!

  12. I am guessing desk #3. I don’t know Lou but in pictures and traveling so much, it looked right to me. Sit back and relax, the new home will be as you planned or better.

  13. I’m thinking #2…the modern lines seem to fit with what I have seen of your house to date.

  14. This is fun. I would say #2 because of all Lou’s travels he seems to like to be different and the chair looks comfortable. Can’t wait to see the finished house, then all the furniture arranged.
I do miss your cards though.
    Marge

  15. I pick 3! Simple, no clutter! One seems to busy for a man that is home very little! Two I think is really neat–but not what I picture working at and looking at the beautiful scenery out the back window (will his office face back?)
Dang thought for sure you would of stopped–you and Lou are much stronger than I would of been!! lol

  16. Hello …. Well I was so wrong about you going to the house for a visit. hahaha!
The desk, well #1 is a women’s desk she likes pictures and just little things sitting around and storage. I really don’t like sitting at a desk that is up against the wall. Men don’t need places for storage, they like everything right out in their reach.
#2 … um gosh I just can’t see that going with the house (just thinking of the outside) … I mean seems like #2 would be more for a glass type house, but then again you loves trees and #2 certainly isn’t made with trees so Lou is preserving nature, BUT I think you just looked a that desk and said “OH that is so cool”
#3 ( I love it) BUT then again, it is made with wood, but so traditional (don’t care for the chair) … whew tough decision between #2 and #3
I am going to say … well I will decide after you tell us! bahahaha
    It has to be #3

  17. My guess is desk #3. Good for you waiting for Wednesday to see your house!!

  18. Ohmygoodness!! You guys must be in the new house now! How THRILLING!! I hope you are pleased with all your choices and that there has been no second guessing. That is always the worst.
Poor Charlie boy. I’m sure he and the rest of the furbabies will be delighted to join you in your new digs–when the time arrives. They are in the best place they can possibly be and I’m sure the older guys knew that. :o)
I can’t wait hear which desk Lou selected. They’re all wonderful. :o)
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hi Lou!

  19. I am thinking that it’s not #1, since I would imagine Lou would like to look outside rather than to the wall.
#2 is kind of funky, yet modern?
#3 is more likely, you can look outside, yet it’s a bit feminine.
Tough choice. Let’s go with #2 then. Am I right?

  20. I think #2–don’t know if he would pick it or not but it is so unusual it may be what men would go with.

  21. I’m thinking desk one, followed by desk 3, meaning it will probably be desk 2, desk one. All cool choices. You must be soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!

  22. I think he would like desk 3. Desk one is wonderful but would be overwhelming even in a regular sized room.
