Altenew Enjoy the Flight for Paper Players Challenge #801

Happy Saturday.

It’s my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s Tic-Tac-Toe week. I tried to create a board that would give you lots of flexibility. In fact, the design team have made cards ranging from Christmas to Halloween and just about everything in between using the board! I decided to break out a set I don’t use often, but one that is close to my heart. As is this sentiment, by the way! It’s a set called Enjoy the Flight from Altenew. I paired it with some old DSP that I got as a freebie from scrapbook.com years ago.

Here’s a sneak peek:

That background paper was just perfect for the theme! Oh, and here is our Tic-Tac-Toe board:

I die-cut all of the elements and assembled them. I then stamped the globe onto a piece of white cardstock and die-cut it using a circle die from my stash. Before assembling the front of the card I adhered the patterned paper to the base and stamped the sentiment.

I then popped up and arranged all of the elements together. I really wanted to keep the colors to a minimum so that the collection felt more cohesive. I just love these little suitcases and the plane is fabulous. Such a great smaller set from Altenew.

Here’s my full card:

I hope you will join us and play along with our TTT board. We would love to see what YOU create using it. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

I attended the one day Oh What Fun virtual event run by Spellbinders yesterday. We received some really fun goodies in the event kit. Ones that I wouldn’t normally buy, but had fun making some interactive cards. Sadly the event was probably the worst organized/run event I’ve attended. I think the issue was that they were running a 3 day in person event with the virtual event in the middle of it and it was just too much for them. Some people only got their kits the morning of the event, some hadn’t received them yet. Communication gave incorrect addresses, QR codes, urls, etc. I was surprised as Spellbinders is one of the bigger companies, so I’m thinking that they might separate the two events next time. The kit was well worth the money but was a bit confusing to the overseas attendees as the major die set included Macy’s day parade balloons and those outside of the US were very confused:-). For those of us who understood the reference they made a fun interactive card and certainly something that I hadn’t seen before. I’ll share the cards this week. Regardless of the organization and communication issues, it was still fun, but it did reinforce, once again, how amazing the Concord and 9th event was a couple of months ago.

Although it isn’t fall yet, I am dying to decorate, so think I might start doing it a little early this year. I purchased a ghost on a swing to put out in the garden hanging from the large circle frame we have in the garden. We think it should fit there perfectly. I don’t decorate for Halloween these days as our area isn’t really geared to families. However our neighbor has two young grandchildren and we think they will get a kick out of it. Mind you, I won’t be putting that up for another month!

I’ll be back on Monday with some cards. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
