My thoughts and prayers go out tonight to those affected by the the
tragic shootings in Connecticut. My blood runs cold and the
angels weep.
I give you this one thought to keep –
I am with you still – I do
not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on
snow,
I am sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at
night.
Do not think of me as gone –
I am with you still – in each new
dawn.

Love your words tonight. My daughter is a 7th grade teacher and we had a long talk tonight. What is this world coming to?
Amen.
What a beautiful poem for such a sad day!
Your picture is incredibly eloquent. Thank you.
Such a beautiful poem. Our hearts, as a nation, certainly go out to everyone affected by this senseless tragedy. We can only pray that some day an end will come to all of the violence we are seeing around us.
I shared this on Facebook; I hope you don’t mind. I am heartbroken. As a mother and grandmother, I can only imagine the grief these families feel. May God hold them in the palm of His hand.
How poignant. My heart will always break during times like this. You said it all. (Former) Teacher K – 12, Nancy B
