Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday. I know… another ear worm for those of you that remember old classic "Hitchin a ride" by Vanity Fair. You can remind yourself here. This particular youtube video comes with some great photos, too! So, what does this have to do with my blog post… well, page down and see what that naughty elf has been up to!
I am so pleased that we are half-way through this week! It seems that everyone is trying to get things done at work and there are so many projects that need to be finished before we can go on vacation. I'm starving and still have so many things to do before I can settle down to preparing dinner! I know you all know about those days!
I did, however, want to share a couple of photos with you and it's a fairly random set of photos! Some of you may remember the Out of the World card I made for EM – on this post – well, I decided that space travel wasn't just for boys. I was fascinated by space as a child, so thought I would make a girly version!
I really do like this set – and for $5 … well, you just can't go wrong!
One of the areas that I haven't gotten around to decorating for Christmas yet, is our basement. I love this area of our house. It is split into 4 areas – the bar, the gaming/eating area, a "foyer" like area and, of course, the TV area. I thought I would share a photo I took of the eating area. I love the cupboards and recycled table and the antiqued mirror. As you can see, it goes straight out onto our patio under the deck and has a great view of the wetland at ground floor level. We tend to look over the wetland from most of the views in the house, so it's wonderful to see it from ground level.
It's also really cool in summer, so we did spend a fair amount of time down there in summer. My craft room is off this area – you can see the door into my craft room at the back of the room. The bar is on the right hand side. The one thing we hadn't really realized about the bar… how big it was going to be! When we first moved in, I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to decorate the downstairs area so that it wouldn't be "all about the bar"!
It really is one of my favorite parts of the house. What's your favorite part of your house? I'd love to hear.

What a fun card! Some girl is going to LOVE receiving it! :o) The layout is wonderful and I was just thinking I need to put it in my go-to layout folder. :o)
Oh, I LOVE that area of your basement! Basements are the BEST in the summer!! I sincerely wish we had one as they are an added expense here in our part of VA. Now, down in the mountains where I grew up…;o)
My favorite space in my house? Besides my stamping space you mean? ;o) I would have to say it’s my kitchen into my family room. There’s something wonderful about all of us being together even when we’re NOT all together since I’m in the kitchen and they’re in the “other” room. :o) And, now that I’ve redone the kitchen a bit, it makes me even happier. There are still some finishing touches (such as window treatments) that are needed, but overall, it’s wonderful. :o)
Ah, Buzbee, you silly boy! It looks like the Nutcracker didn’t mind in the least he was hitching a ride (and yes, you terrible person, I’m now stuck with that earworm. :oP).

My favorite place in my home is my sunporch. I have my computer there and it looks out to the water where I can see Ft. Monroe and the historic Chamberlin Hotel. It is so peaceful.
I can see why that’s your favourite part; it looks so comfy and homey. One thing I haven’t seen in your new house is your elephant painting. Has it made it up anywhere or does it not ‘fit’?
