Build a Flower Rose for Addicted to CAS #153

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulous Bobby's turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge this week and this is her code word:

I must admit, I was initially tempted to go with a masculine card.  Instead, I decided to go with something a little more feminine:-)

I partially stamped the Pattern Play stamp into the bottom left corner and added some shading with my warm grey Copic markers.

I then stamped the Build A Rose stamp and leaves and die-cut them.  I really do love this rose – it's one of my favorite Altenew stamps.   Of course, I added a little glimmer with my gel pen 🙂

Here's a closeup of the wonderful coral-red colors:

I popped the flower and leaves up on foam dots, added the sentiment, and the outside of the card was done.

Here's my full card:

I hope you will join us and play along this week.  The design team have some gorgeous inspiration for you, including our very talented guest designer Eliz Stewart.  I promise you will love her take on the code word.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card – and some photos.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Gorgeous rose, Jaydee, and the stenciling behind it is great for the challenge. BTW you may want to change my name at the beginning of the post. 😀

  2. Rose is stunning and love the layout too. Curious why so many choose to die cut these flowers instead of just stamping on the card for a one layer card? Seems so much more elegant that way. Plus I absolutely hate the white border die cuts leave…just a personal opinion!

  3. Love that partial stamping, Jaydee. What a wonderful take on the code word. Great idea to shade it in gray. Your gorgeous bloom looks wonderful atop the grid. I love the script on that lovely, simple sentiment. Beautiful creation!

  4. Wow! Love the shade of grey to your partial stamping which gives 3d embossed look! Gorgeous flowerfas well. Awesome take On the cue Jaydee!

  5. Jaydee… as always, a beautiful card! Love the subtle grid. Thanks so much for the invitation to play along with the DT this week! Elizabeth

  6. Thanks, Marilyn. It’s an interesting question. For me, it depends on the card. Sometimes, I fussy cut to remove the white halo – sometimes, like this one I leave it. As there is so much white on the card, I didn’t think it was as distracting as on other cards. You can see on this post that I removed it because of the dark background https://www.jaydeestamping.com/weblog/2017/10/build-a-rose-for-match-the-sketch-and-cas-colors-and-sketches.html
