Butterfly for Paper Players #291

 

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she chose a theme very close to my heart 🙂

 
When deciding on what to do with this theme, I remembered that I had a pre-cut butterfly in a stash of things that I had received… I can't remember where from!   But it was die-cut onto pre-embossed paper and I thought it would make the perfect focal point for my card.
 
I blended some distress inks over the embossed areas, mounted it to the card base, added my sentiment – and voila.  I was done.
Here's my card:

I added some clear dimensional foam underneath the wings closest to the body so that they would stay a little "lifted" to add movement.
 
The design team have – as always – created some fabulous cards as inspiration for you.  They really are an amazing group of ladies:-)
 

On a personal note:

We are getting back into the swing of things at home and back into our normal routine.  the weather has been glorious  – in the high 70s if you don't mind with lots of sunshine.  We have tidied up, scrubbed and readied our screened-in porch for the rest of the year.  It needed a good clean after the ravages of late autumn and winter.  We have managed to sit in that area for the last couple of nights just enjoying the comings and goings in the wetland and woodland.

The Cranes have arrived, but we have only caught glimpses of them.  They did come close enough for me to take a couple of shots but, as the grasses in the wetland are still so brown, they are pretty hard to see.  They are magnificent though!

  1. Great looking CAS card, Jaydee! That’s some interesting paper and it’s perfect to make a butterfly with. Another card with purple. Now I’m going to need to make a card with it soon. Have a great Sunday afternoon.

  3. Hi Jaydee! Perfect CAS card…I love that embossed butterfly.So pretty!
    I have been watching the eagles today…they swoop down into the lake fishing!No cranes though, but we do have a blue heron that likes to sit on the dock…haven’t seen him yet this year, but maybe he’s waiting till we put the dock in..LOL! Warm up here too today.Have a great week!

  9. Gorgeous embossed butterfly and I love your coloring. Like the layout too with the bitty strip of colored paper peeking out. So happy the cranes made it on their journey north. We have some that winter here in Gainesville and I always marvel at their journey when I hear them honking on their way north! ((hugs))
