Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday.
Another great sketch across at retrosketches again this week.
I made a little change to the background panels and used ribbon instead of cardstock. I have this gorgeous ribbon that has been in my stash for a couple of years and that inspired me to make this card. Of course, I absolutely HAD to bring out one of my favorite Christmas sets, Cardinal Christmas.
Here's my card:
Have I told you that I absolutely LOVE Gumball Green. I think its a fabulous color – especially for Christmas. You can see that I used 4 pieces of the ribbon for the background horizontal pieces. I stamped my image onto Very Vanilla card stock and colored it using my Copic markers. The sentiment is from Short & Sweet. A set that I find myself turning to often. I pulled out an old Sizzix embossing folder as I thought it fit the focal image very well and helped to add interest to the background layer.
If you haven't discovered the retrosketches site yet, you really should go check it out and play along.
On a personal note:
A fairly long day back at work today – started at 6.30am and won't be finished until about 8 tonight. I am taking an hour away from my desk to a) do my blog and b) go for a quick walk with my hubby. It's a reasonably cold day here today, so we will need to rug up for our walk tonight. I do enjoy these walks with Lou when he is at home, it's a great break for both of us and gets us out into the fresh air to enjoy the gorgeous sights at this time of the year.
I wanted to introduce you to one of our other Halloween decorations! Her name is Bones. Now, we have a friend who is nicknamed Bones and she's really slim. So, you can see why she got her name :-). Well, Bones loves bling and loves Starbucks. When she was out her last week, for her first trip to the US, she REALLY wanted to visit a truly American Starbucks. She loved it, by the way. Well, when we unpacked Bones, we couldn't help but dress her up with some blingy shades and a Venti Cappuccino from Starbucks as she casually sat back in her favorite chair! 🙂
Bones…… this one is for you, girl 🙂
I thought I'd share a pic of one of our whitetails resting in our garden last week. I was looking out of the great room window and saw a shape in the grass….. can you see it ? in the trees?
Ok…. let's get a closer look…..
Isn't she gorgeous?
I'm almost done with the OWH cards. I have one more set to photograph and will start to showcase the cards next week. I will also list the winner of the SU booty this weekend.
Please come back tomorrow…. I found another cause for those cards that you make – one to which you will relate… well, I think most of you will anyway! I'll have details on that in tomorrow's post.
As always, thank you for spending a little time in my area of the stamping blogosphere. You know your visits and comments are greatly appreciated.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight. Have a fabulous Thursday.
Hugs
Jaydee
