Happy Sunday.
It’s my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s sketch week. The sketch gave me the perfect excuse to bring out some DSP and I used two sheets from the Joy of Christmas DSP pack and the bold sentiment from Christmas Classics – both from Stampin’ Up!
I reallty love the watercolor effects of this DSP and think it pairs beautifully with the plaid! And here’s the sketch for this week:
I went against my usual grain and used a colored card base instead of white! I thought the rich colors from the DSP looked much better on the red base. I also added a touch of the black and white ribbon for the tag. I added a stamped element behind the sentiment from the Joy of Noel set to add just a little more texture.
Here’s my full card:

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, this darned COVID just doesn’t seem to want to let go just yet. My lungs are still feeling the brunt of it and I cannot shake the cough. Not surprising as I did suffer from asthma for many, many years. Overall though, I feel so much better than I did a week ago when we got back from vacation!
My official finish date at work has been logged into the personnel system and the signoff on my email now states that my upcoming out of office starts on December 31! After 5 decades of working, it still feels surreal, but I have the next two months to get used to it as I will not be taking on any real projects before I go 🙂
I did get into my craft room yesterday – the first time in nearly a month – and managed to make a couple of cards for our last challenges for the year on the design teams I am on. I also finished the cards from the oneline card class I did with PinkFreshStudios, so will be able to share those with you this coming week.
In the neantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight
Hugs
Jaydee

What a beautiful card!! I love the pattern paper you chose and the simplicity of the stamped image on the tag. Lovely design.
Jaydee, I pray you feel better today. I know that cough can be lingering! Continue to take care of yourself!
I love this beautiful card. The sentiment speaks volumes to me esp at this time. I love the holly and all that gorgeous red. The black and white ribbon adds so much fun! Just perfect!
These papers are just beautiful, and that big bold black sentiment works great with that fun gingham trim! Hope you feel better soon!
I love this sketch. You were so right to choose that wonderful lush red card base for this card. I love the watercolor effect on that DSP as well, and the stamping beneath your sentiment. The gingham ribbon does pop and looks great with the panel beneath the watercolor DSP. What a beautiful card.
I love the simple tag Jaydee – it really allows the rich colours and DSP to shine. The sequin embellishment on the tag is really cute too and brings it back into focus. Gorgeous! Sending hugs and hoping you feel better soon – you have an impending retirement to enjoy!!
This was a great sketch challenge-so versatile. It was great for showing off some favorite DSP. I like how you added the tag to your card with the bold sentiment and subtle background image. So pretty.
A beautiful card, Jaydee! I love the combination of papers you used. The tag with sentiment is a wonderful focal point. The stamping behind the sentiment is a great design detail, while the ribbon and sequin are the perfect touches. Enjoy your final weeks at work. As much as I was ready for retirement, it was quite the lifestyle change. I can’t say I missed the work, but I missed the people!
This is really pretty. I love the colors, the patterns of paper you used, the plaid ribbon and the darling little holly/berries embellishment.
