Christmas Kitties for Paper Players # 372

Hi Everyone.

Well… I did it.  I finally made a card.  It was late for our Paper Players challenge – but I finally cut some paper, inked up some stamps and colored an image!  It's the first card I have made in over a month.  I generally try to get my challenge cards made well in advance, but I didn't quite get them all finished for the rest of the year before my mojo went south.

It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a sketch for us:

Now, this sketch was a challenge for me, especially on low mojo.  But… and you have heard me say this before… the good thing about challenges is that they do just that.  Challenging our creative juices and using things in different ways is really good for us – and this challenge did exactly that.  I needed to concentrate very hard on the elements here and couldn't work out what stamp to use.  Then I remembered that I received a new Gerda Steiner stamp set called Christmas Kitties.  It's adorable!  I knew that one of the central images was just perfect for this challenge.

I colored the image fairly simply and added a little shimmer and shine to the baubles.  Now… what does kitties and baubles say to you????  Yep…… exactly!

Well I know that is exactly what would happen in our house if we had a Christmas tree with baubles on it! 🙂

Here's my card:

I hope you will join us this week and play along with Joanne's sketch.  If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than our fabulous design team:

I am off back to my craft room to see if I can make any other cards!  If I can, I will be back later in the week.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

hugs

Jaydee

  1. Ha Ha, such a fun image! Love your “bad kitty” Christmas card, it’s adorable Jaydee! I especially like the stripes you colored on him.

  2. Adorable card! Love this kitten stamp with the look on its face! And the sentiment goes so well with it!

  3. For someone with low mojo you really hit it out of the park on this one!!! Love that adorable kitty and the stripes on the background. Really a great card. You are really doing fantastic.

  4. Jaydee your naughty kitty card was worth the wait – I’m sure that there will be many kitten owners that can identify with this and I love the broken bauble beneath the sentiment, the perfect finishing touch. You’ve coloured your kitty beautifully too and I love the subtle god twine bow so that it doesn’t detract from your sweet image. So glad the sketch held you break out of that creative rut for a while!

  5. Well this card was absolutely worth waiting for Jaydee; I love it! We put up our own Christmas tree last weekend and there was Ollie, nibbling on the branches and making a fine bed for himself in the tree skirt. Any cat lover would be thrilled to get this in the mail!

  6. This cracks me up! Long before we had a small child, I bought plastic Christmas tree ornaments simply because we had feline fur babies. Silly kitties! This card is adorable and perfectly colored. Fabulous use of the sketch and I’m so glad you got some crafty time to yourself!

  7. Oh! I wish I had this image…it’s adorable and so perfect for a cat owner! Cute, cute card! Hope you’re having a great week and can find some more crafty time 🙂

  8. Jaydee, this is adorable! That naughty little kitty is so cute! I love the broken ornament and the sentiment! Your coloring is fabulous! Your mojo is back! I hope you are having a lovely week, My Friend! XX
