Gingerbread Man – for Paper Players # 373

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Player's challenge this week – and it's a sweet one!

I don't have many stamp sets – in fact I only have one :-)  But, as the set contains a gingerbread man… it was perfect for the challenge and for a good friend of mine!

I found a piece of My Mind's Eye DSP that had little gingerbread houses on it and realized it would be perfect as the base.  I stamped my gingerbread man and then colored him with pencils and added some "icing" with my Irresistibles and Nuovo drops.

Here's a closeup of him…. sorry it's not entirely in focus!

I used a piece of Altenew cardstock that has some flecks in it and die cut him with a Wonky Rectangles die.  I thought they both worked well for him.

Here's the full card:

I bet you are wondering what the inside of the card says? 🙂

I hope you will join us and play along this week.  If you are looking for some inspiration check out what sweet treats our fabulous design team have cooked up for you:

On a personal note:

I was so busy this past week that I only managed to make a single card.  I REALLY have to go and make some Christmas cards, so am hoping that I will get some time during this week to do that.

I did manage to take a photo of the deer this past week.  It was sunset and the fading sun was beaming down onto the wetland casting a strange orangey-pinky-brownish hue to what is already a brown wetland.  I really haven't done anything to this photo – it really was this color:-)

I'll be back later in the week with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jaydee, this is perfect! I love the sentiment–inside and out! LOL Your DSP is perfect for your background! That icing looks real! A perfect card for the challenge. I love this gorgeous photo. I would love to sit and drink coffee and look out at this amazing site! I hope you have a great week, My Friend! XX

  2. Love your card!! The sentiments are just great! Also the wildlife pic was fabulous. Do so enjoy your cards. Thanks for taking time to share.

  3. I like the humour! The touches of icing on your gingerbread man are so clever. He’s a good match for the paper and I’m glad to know I’m not the only one low on Christmas baking stamps!

  4. Oh I love the hand-iced look that you gave your gingerbread man Jaydee – and that sentiment is hilarious!! I’m glad it’s not just me struggling to find time to craft this week – so much to do during the festive season, I could use a few more hours in my day!

  5. I’m with you! I realized I only had two food related stamp sets myself but my sentiments are not nearly as funny as yours! How perfect to complement your yummy looking gingerbread man with all that great frosting! Hope you’re having a good week ~ Hugs, Annie

  6. OMG, love this sentiment inside and out! Just perfect. As are your gingerbread house paper and bedecked gingerbread man. Love his icing–it looks so real! I hope you find time to relax and enjoy the season–especially to enjoy the woodland fauna at your home!

  7. Jaydee when I saw this card in the gallery, I couldn’t wait for Sunday so I could see what was on the inside. I was not disappointed, what a hysterical sentiment! Great card, such a fun take on this challenge. Your friend will love it.
