Some of you may remember that I talked about attending the onlinecardclasses Brighter Days class. It honeslty was one of the best online events I’ve attended. There was LOTS and LOTS of ink blending, but the cards were fabulous. There were a few I didn’t replicate as they were not something I thought I would use, but most of them I did make.
What I liked about the class is that it was a very limited list of supplies available individually, or as a bulk buy, from Concord and 9th or Simon Says Stamp. It consists of a sentiment and die set called Brighter Days and a great set consisting of dies, stencils and stamps called Weather Together.
Using such a limited supply of goodies for the class meant that you really got to use the same set over and over but in totally different ways. What I also liked about the stencil is that it that they are double stencils. Meaning you can make two card fronts from one stencil, or create a card that is stenciled on the back and front. BTW, I loved that we could do that.
Over the next few days I will be sharing the cards that we made. I thought we would start with three of the shaker cards.
These were created by Laura Bassen and were so easy to put together. We used the raindrop stencil for the background of the first one. Laura embossed with the stencil, but I opted to use transparent paste instead for some texture. I love how simple this card is, but how the umbrella gives a fun pop of color and the shaker elements a touch of shimmer and shine.
The next card was also from Laura. If any of you know Laura, you know that she LOVES her a good rainbow. This card was a perfect example of her love of rainbows. Bright, cheerful and full of great color. I used different colors to Laura and I used some colored sequins and sprinkles in the shaker card.
The next card came from Carly Tee Minner and was a fun card made with the cloud dies from the Weather Together set. The background was blended with rainbow colors and then a whole sheet of acetate was used to create a full sized shaker card. The shaker elements go from top to bottom and vice versa. Such a fun use of this set.
All of the sentiments in the Brighter Days and Weather Together sets are full of encouragement and support. The cards ranged from clean and simple to much more complicated, but totally fun and easy to make, interactive cards. Seeing so many different crafters using them in different ways meant that I got more of of these sets than on any other class.

I must admit, I probably would not have bought the Weather Together set, but it’s a complete keeper. I love the dies and the stencils and see them being used for so many things.
