Flores Suaves – For Rose

Hi Everyone.

This is going to be a very quick post tonight.  I do apologise for not posting last night, but Lou got home from his trip 2 hours later than scheduled and consequently, the night just ran away with me!

This is one of the cards that I have made for Rose.  Some of you may remember that Rose is my surrogate Mom… Well, she is my best friend's mother and she is a wonderful, wonderful lady.  When my parents died when I was in my 20s (they died within 3 months of each other), Rose told me that she was adopting me – as no young woman should be without a mother! I love her dearly.  She was diagnosed very recently with breast cancer.

I have made several cards to send to her – this is one of them.  Rose, not surprisingly, loves pink and she loves flowers.

I must admit, I have gotten an amazing amount of use out of the Flores Suaves set.  If you haven't taken a look at it – because it is only featured in the Spanish Stampin' Up! catalog, you should.  It really is fabulous.

For rose 1 (1)

Card recipe:

  • Card stock:  Very Vanilla, Rose Red
  • Ribbon:  Lace, Purely Pomegranate
  • Inks:  Old Olive, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron
  • Stamps:  En Francais, Flores Suaves

On a personal note…. It is wonderful to have my honey home.  He has been gone a lot this year and these multiple week trips get old after a while!  We went out to dinner last night and just relaxed, enjoyed each other and caught up on our time apart.

I did get a little time in my stamping space today… yay…. not much… but a little!

Prayers as always tonight for those that need a little lift.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. What a lovely card for a lovely woman. I’m sure you are just as much a blessing to her as she is to you. :o)
Welcome home, Lou! Jaydee, I think I would be a wreck if Brien were to travel that much and for so long. I can only imagine how hard it must be to be separated from your sweetie.
I look forward to seeing those cards you made!
    Prayers for those in need.
Hugs to one and all! :o)

  2. Jaydee, I wonder if you really know what a lift you give each day with your beautiful cards and comments. You have become such a good friend and you don’t even know me. Thank you so much. I too have just gone through early stage breast cancer on both sides. I had no pain at all from the surgery, and I believe it was because of the prayers with which I was enveloped. God is good. Please keep up the wonderful gift you have been given with your positive attitude and talent to pass on to others. Glad Lou is home.

  3. I love this card and the layout is one that can be used for many different kinds of cards. You are blessed to have a surrogate mother like Rose. From your past posts she sounds very nurturing, just what you needed then. I am sure she will love this card and it will brighten her day!

  4. Welcome home Lou, she has been waiting on you! : )
Lovely card Jaydee and I know she is going to appreciate it.
    Have a great Sunday

I would have loved that, as my mom died when I was 7 and I have missed her all my life! So I know your card will be loved by Rose and I send her prayers and hugs too! Happy for you that you have Lou back home safe! it is hard to have your SH travel so much, I know how it feels – as Chris travelled for a whole eight years of our married life…and I am glad that he does not now as much!! so take time with your SH Lou and don’t worry about your posts!
