Paper Players Challenge # 22 – Ann’s recipe

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday!

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Me… it just wasn't long enough! :-)   I did get to make 4 cards today – all of them very different.  A halloween card, two Christmas cards, and a fall themed thank you card.

Tonight's card, though, is for the Paper Players Challenge.  I can't believe it is our 22nd challenge already!

Ann was the hostess this week and challenged us with a recipe.  The recipe?   A punch, a designer series paper and a sentiment.  Now…. you can use more – but the card had to incorporate those three things.

How difficult could that be?  I mean seriously, it's open ended; it's versatile; it can be ANY occasion, any color….. so….. you would think it would have been easy for me, right?  WRONG!  The last couple of days my mind has certainly been elsewhere.  It took me forever to come up with this card.  And… all it is… card stock, one piece of DSP, one punch and one sentiment!  Do you ever have those days/weeks, where you just cannot get into the groove?  I've certainly been like that this last week.

We do hope that you will join us this week.  It really is a super easy combo.

Card recipe:

  • Card st0ck:  Cherry Cobbler
  • DSP:  Jolly Holiday
  • Stamp:  Perfect Punches (Joy to the World)
  • Tools:  Petal Card Extra Large Double
  • Accessories:  Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, Basic Pearls

On a personal note:  We started to get ready for winter today.  All the outdoor furniture is inside.  The fountain has been disconnected and brought inside.  Considering its only been down for 3 weeks :-)  We are now ready to put up the external Christmas decorations, but think we will wait until Thanksgiving for that.  I really don't think I could put up decorations before Thanksgiving.  Mind you, my friend Pam, told me that they had put up Christmas decorations in some shops in England in July!

Tonight, Lou and I will be watching our favorite program of the week – The Amazing Race.

Prayers as always for those in need.

Don't forget, smile at a stranger – it may change their life.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. You are so funny Jaydee! You sounded just like me when I try to come up with a card! I do love this card! It looks so pretty & bright! Thanks for sharing this awesome card with us!
Hugs & prayers to all in need!

  2. I have been having “card making block” for a couple of weeks now. I just can’t seem to find a groove. I’ll sit and stare and pull out stamp sets and stare and pull out papers and stare some more. And NOTHING happens. It’s SO frustrating. Sometimes I think I’m stymied by TOO MANY choices…
Maybe this challenge will be the one to move me out of my rut.
Your card is delightfully Christmas-y. :o) Well done!
    Prayers to all.
    HUGS!

  3. Glad to hear that it happens to you too! I laughed at Rach’s comment–I totally relate to the sitting and staring! But today’s card is wonderfully elegant and clean. You always come up with great ways to highlight our beautiful DSP! {hugs}

  4. Oh my gosh! How can anyone not have Christmas block? It’s only October. We all create better under a little stress!!
Lovely, easy card. The colors are wonderful.

  5. So cute! I still haven’t broken into my DP like this…..need to do that before next Christmas I’m thinking! This is so pretty and will be a great card for the holidays!
It’s so hard to think of yall already having cold weather up there…..we’re suppose to be back in the 90’s this week!

  6. That is so funny that you have a hard time coming up with this card. I thought, how clever that you come with this. It’s simple, not much stamping, yet it fits the challenge and it’s very Jaydee. Yep, those tiny pearls just make them a Jaydee kind of card. I like it. For me, it’s harder in the last couple weeks’ sketches. This week, not so bad and I am glad I played and get it out of the way today…because I will not have time during the week since the deadline currently is on Friday’s instead of Saturday’s like it used to be.

  7. Oh my gosh, how simple is that card? Easy enough and having all the supplies are a plus . . . a *block* Imagine that? Just jokin’ with you and thanks for sharing with all of us.
Busy weekend in Ohio . . . and I might mention
Sami’s soccer team *First seed*, ECOL champs (11 yrs in a row) and Sectional champs . . . now we are onto District this week.
    Have a great day!

  8. This card is so very “Jaydee -ish”! I love the simplicity of it and it is certainly beautiful! I think we all get in that place where just nothing seems to work right together. Then all of a sudden-we get an idea and off we go!
You always seem to get the right combination though, so I am surprised that you have trouble sometimes coming up with something!
