Hi Everyone. Happy Monday night. Hope you all had a fabulous weekend.
Quick post for you tonight! My card uses the French Foliage stamp set (from the 2010 Mini Holiday catalog). I love this set and know that it will be making a number of appearances. I made this simple card using the Neutrals DSP, the French Foliage Stamp set, a little vellum and a little 1/8" grosgrain ribbon. Very simple. The "hardest" part was cutting out the leaves with my paper snips. It is also my second submission for the masculine kiss challenge across at palspaperarts. I often find myself looking for a masculine thank you card – and I really think this fits the bill.
- Card stock: Early Espresso, Sahara Sand
- DSP: Neutrals DSP (love this new DSP!)
- Inks: Early Espresso, Pumplin Pie, Cajun Craze
- Accessories: 1/8" grosgrain ribbon, vellum
- Tools: Paper snips
Card instructions:
- Cut Early Espresso card stock to 11 x 4 2/5" – score and fold at 5 1/2"
- Cut two pieces of DSP to fit a 5 1/4 x 4 space. You can make the two pieces even, or off center. For me – it had to be two even pieces 🙂
- Adhere these pieces to the card base
- Unfortunately, I cannot give you the dimensions of the two layers as Brenda has my cards on a temporary basis 🙂
- Ink the background French verse onto the Sahara Sand layer and adhere this layer to the Early Espresso layer
- Ink the three leaf stamps with three colors of your choice. Stamp onto vellum and cut out using your paper snips. Adhere each of these to the focal point layer
- Wrap ribbon around the layer and tie into a knot
- Ink up sentiment and stamp onto the bottom corner of the DSP layer
It really is a pretty easy card to put together. One of the key things is taking the focal point off at an angle. It really does add a lot of interest to the card and is very simple to do.
You can make this card using any Autumn/Fall color scheme and it would work well. I love the prose DSP – it really is pretty cool.
On a personal note… it was hot and humid again today. Heat indices were up to 105. Way too hot for me! Charlie is settling into our laundry and garage area. He really is an amazingly sweet little cat. I don't think he will ever be a large cat and we think he might have a problem with one of his back legs. Only the vet will be able to determine that. Additionally, the poor little thing has never learned to play. How sad is that?
Prayers tonight for Trish, Germaine, Missy's family ANgela, T, Pri, Arthur, Hugo, Sue and John.
I hope you all have a fabulous Tuesday and thank you so much for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere.
Hugs
Jaydee
