Fresh for Fab Fridays and Allsorts

Hi Everyone.   Happy Monday.

I hope you all had a fabulous 4th July weekend.   We had a great weekend and I even got to spend some time in my craft room playing along with some challenges.

Fab Fridays had a color challenge… it's to use some – or all – of the new Stampin' Up! In Colors.

The Penny Black Allsorts challenge is to use a sentiment.

Now, my regular blog readers will know that I love me some Penny Black flower stamps and Fresh is no exception.  So, it was a great excuse to pull out the Stampin' Up! in colors and color this fabulous image.

I started by stamping the Fresh flower image from Penny Black and then colored the image and I used Mint Macaron and Cucumber Crush for the stems.   Dijon and Tip Top Taupe for the center of the flowers.  Watercolor Wonder for the petals.  The card base is Cucumber Crush.  So, that was all 5 of the in colors!

Here's my card:

This is such a great image and it was really relaxing coloring it.    I hope that you will visit both sites and check out the submission and inspiration cards – and play along, too!

On a personal note:

Saturday morning I woke up fairly early and couldn't get back to sleep.  I was so glad that I couldn't.  The sun started to come up across the wetland and was the most incredible pink.  I spent the next 30 minutes watching the sun rise and the mist across the wetland.  I went on to the deck and took some photographs.   Here's one of my favorites.

Sunrise2 (1 of 1)

If I hadn't seen it evolve, I would never have believed this was a sunrise shot.  Sometimes, I am over-awed by this amazing world in which we live. 🙂

Our Swamp Milkweed are really looking fabulous.  The flowers have popped and I absolutely love them.

We had a couple of visitors to the feeders, too!

I'll be back tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Your card is a real delight, beautifully coloured and the clean crisp feel to it lets the flowers – I’m calling them Poppies because I love them – radiate through.
Thank you so much for joining us at Penny Black and More challenge and also for sharing your lovely photos.

  2. Hi Jaydee! Such a beautiful Summer card! Love this pretty poppy image and how you used all the new In Colors. Your watermelon color almost makes me forget about strawberry slush!
I just love the serene sun photo with the clouds streaking through. The quiet beauty of the morning sunrise always restores my soul. Your wetlands photos are gorgeous. I’m so thankful you share them with all of us!

  3. Beautiful card along with great coloring making use of using all the colors in the challenge. Great job and love them poppies.
What a gorgeous and unusual sunrise (color wise) Stunning photo.
Pretty color on the milkweed flower.
Thanks for sharing your nature photos. Curious mind here want to know………. What is that in the deer feeder? Doesn’t look like shelled corn; almost looks like popped, pop corn from looking @ your photos. I know I will probably feel like an idiot once you say what it is but have been curious since the first time I seen one of your deer photos at the feeder.

  4. What a gorgeous card! Your coloring is just perfect – these really leap off the page! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
