Happy Saturday
As I had an extended long weekend this week it meant I got to finish up my craft room and spend some time creating some cards! After all these weeks of not being able to craft, it felt really good too get my hands inky. I also got to play along with a challenge or two. The sketch across at Freshly Made Sketches this week really got my creative juices flowing and I was inspired to bring up my old SU favorite – Good Morning Magnolia. I had a little fun with some water coloring, too!
Here's a little sneak peak!

Here's the sketch:
Initially I was going to use some DSP for the vertical stripes, but didn't want the DSP to detract from my flower. In the end I used an old Altenew stencil and created the two vertical panels – and the horizontal one – using some blue/grey ink and the striped stencil.
I inked up my flower with Versafine ink – my favorite ink.. I just wish I could find a way to open it without getting ink all over my fingers and thumbs! But, I digress! Once the ink had dried I opened up my Stamp Market water colors and added the yellows and greens. I didn't want a white border around the flower, so I fussy cut it instead. All I had to do was add a stitched rectangle around the focal layer and add my sentiment. The sentiment is from the Greetery. Here's my full card:
This is one of my favorite SU stamps and is one that will be in my collection for a long time. I did a massive clean out as we were getting ready to move, but there was no way I was parting with this set!
I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players cards and some photos! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
