Happy Crabs for Try a Sketch on Tuesday 672

Happy Wednesday.

I got to play along with a sketch challenge across at Try a Sketch on Tuesday this week.  The sketch is a great excuse to bring out some fabuous DSP.  In fact, I used 3 different DSPs on my card – something I very, very rarely do!  I paired the DSP with a die set from Waffle Flower called Happy crabs and I had fun coloring the crabs to match the colors on the DSP.  Here's a sneak peek:

I began by layering three different DSPs to match the sketch.  The DSP is from an old SU called Sand and Sea.  I've been hoarding it for years as I love the patterns on it!  Once I had those down on my card base I die cut and color blended the various elements of the two different sized crabs.  I used a piece of Alabaster card stock for the focal layer and added some brown ink to tone it down a little.   I then adhered that to the card base and added my two little crabs.

I added a shell to the claw of the small crab and the sentiment to the larger crab's claw.  I popped up the shell and claw of the crabs for a little dimension.  These crabs are super cute and I can just see them with some google eyes 🙂

Aren't they the cutest?!!  I saw the blue of the base DSP as the sea and the pink as the setting sun:-). I know the team across at TSOT would love you to play along!
