JanA’S OWH Showcase

Hi Everyone.  Happy Hump Day.  I hope you are all having a fabulous week so far.  I have to report that the temps reached almost 80 today.  yep… 80! It felt so warm, I didn't know what to do with myself 🙂

Tonight, I have the pleasure of showcasing JanA's OWH cards.  Now, the amazing thing about this showcase, is that JanA actually lives in Australia.  She made these cards and sent them all the way from Oz.  Now… that is pretty special, don't you think!  Jan.  I cannot tell you how much it meant to me. I was overwhelmed that you sent them all the way from Oz.  Our servicemen/women, I know would want me to thank you, too! YOU ROCK!

The other great thing about Jan's showcase is that you realize how different the styles are in Oz and the UK – in fact, it seems that each region has its own look and feel.  I noticed that with the cards that Germaine sent last year, too.  It makes it so much fun for me to look through, and adds even more interest to the cards that we submit to the troops.  In fact, variety is one of the reasons why I do the drive.  Being able to submit all the different cards that you make, allows me to submit a much greater variety of colors, styles and occasions, than I would be able to alone.

I chose this card to highlight not only for the outside – but also the inside.  Jan typed up inserts of each of her cards and I absolutely loved this sentiment.  I thought it was one of the best sympathy sentiments I had read and knew that it would be one that I would use in the future.  But… if you want to see the fabulous inside of this card, and the rest of Jan's showcase, you need to click on this link – or double click on the photograph below

Isn't that fabulous.  I thought the whole card was so serene and it was such an unexpected color for a sympathy card and yet, it just felt so right.  If you have seen the sentiment, I think you will understand why I loved it so.  It's just so beautiful.  Please leave Jan a little comment love!  Thank you to those of you who have left comments for the galleries so far.  So few of those who submitted have blogs and rarely get the attention and accolades they deserve, so you leaving a little comment love is a great thing.  What they did was a great thing and I really do enjoy being able to give their fabulous creations a little time in the spotlight.

On a personal note.

Jodi…. you asked about Charlie…. Ah… Charlie, aka Prince Pipsqueak, aka Prince Charming was a little kitten abandoned in the middle of the corn fields.  Lou discovered him when he was out bicycling one evening last fall.  He was sitting on the corner of an intersection just waiting for his owners to come back and pick him up again.  We went and picked him up to give him a home for a few days…. well… there was a campaign on my blog for us to keep him :-)  and keep him we did.  I am so glad that we did.  Here's a pic of the gorgeous little cat.

Charlie

look at that adorable little face 🙂

Hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight. Cam, continued thoughts for you, too.  I do hope everything is OK.

Have a wonderful Thursday, everyone

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jan, you have such a beautiful CAS style I had a hard time deciding which cards I liked best. The one Jaydee highlighted is beautiful and the sentiment inside so warm and heartfelt. Sympathy cards are always so hard to make and write. This was beautifully done.
I also really like the first and third cards in the top row. The simplicity of the first one really allows the sentiment to shine–and when do you want one to shine? When you are thanking someone, of course. :o) And, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the color combo on that third one. Not to mention all that fussy cutting you did. I’m always in awe of those willing to take the time to cut out. :o)
Jaydee, Charlie has really grown into his own. I just ADORE his sweet little face. That mask of his is too wonderful. He reminds me of “Skippyjon Jones” when he goes “incognito”. These are some of Lil’s favorite stories (a young Siamese cat has a very vivid and active imagination and they are too funny!) and I’m going to share Charlie with her tomorrow. I’m sure she’ll love him. :o)
Lou, I hope the travel is going well. Put the app down and go read something, okay?
    Hugs!

  2. Hi Jan! (or is it Good day mate?) : ) Congrats on a job well done. Your cards are beautiful and I enjoyed seeing them. I agreed that your sympathy card is unique and stunning. I love the roping wrapped around the cardstock. Gorgeous! I also love the big bold yellow flower card that reads “enjoy your day”. Love those pretty flowers in yellow and the bling that just sparkles. Love your Aussie style too!
Jaydee, your kitty is so handsome! What a face, I’d want to kiss him constantly. What a nice rescue story thanks to Lou being there in the right time. Thanks again for the showcase of Jan’s cards. I really enjoy seeing so many pretty cards!

  3. Jan, What a beautiful bunch of cards! Your style is so simple, yet stunning! I always try to pick a favorite and I have 2 favorites! The one Jaydee featured is so touching, lovely verse inside. Then the birthday one in the top row, the last one shown is my other favorite. I love all the details and the color combo. Thanks for participating and showing us your talent too!

  4. Jan, I really enjoyed looking at your cards. I love the simplicity of the cards…you really have a knack for creating beautiful cards. I loved the birthday card with the large cut-out flowers…I will have to case that idea to get more use out of that stamp. It was so special of you to participate in the drive…thanks. Marcia

  5. Jan, you some some spectacular cards. Jaydee is right: a nice, different style, yet nice clean and simple. Although the cards are all wonderful, I find the sentiment of the highlighted card very moving.
