Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday. I hope you are all having a great week! Me… well, it's my first week back at work and I'm battling this ridiculous flu bug, which isn't much fun after my round with bronchitis a couple of weeks ago :-) However, I am beginning to feel somewhat human today!
I have a quick card to share with you tonight. I made another card for the Paper Players "love is in the air" challenge this week. I thought my darling hubby deserved another card, so I made one up for him and slipped it into his travel bag when he left on Monday, as a little surprise.
It was a great excuse to get out an embossing folder I don't get to use that often and a new sentiment stamp from Papertrey Ink. Once again, no frills, bows, ribbon or other embellishments that Lou considers inappopriate on a male card. It is exceptionally difficult to wean me off all of my wonderful embellishments. I do keep trying to convince him that buttons and stuff aren't feminine!!!!
What about you, what do you do for cards for your men? Ribbon or no ribbon? Buttons or no buttons? I'd love to hear!
In the meantime, here's my card.
On a personal note:
It was great to have some time off and I felt much more relaxed going back to work than I did when I signed off at Christmas. That shows the break was worth it! TERRI- so sorry that you are working such long hours and not getting to stamp! Big hugs to you.
Im not moving as much as I wanted to…. mainly because this last week moving has caused dreadful coughing fits and I haven't been up to it. However, on that note, DORIS – way to go. 50# loss. That is awesome. Pat yourself on the back from me!
Ann… it is great when couples speak highly of each other isn't it 🙂
Beverly, I got your email and promise I will respond over the weekend!
As always, thank you to all of you for your visit! Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight
Hugs

Oh my, Jaydee. I’m SO sorry you’ve been so ill. That is terrible! I’m glad you’re feeling better. :o)
Masculine cards? I ALWAYS struggle! I once put a button on a card for a man and Brien was horrified! ;oP So, no buttons, no ribbon, certainly no bows :shudder:! I will use twine and hemp, but nothing else. I also try to use earth tones and more muted colors on my masculine cards.
I hope you continue to be on the mend!
Hugs!
P.S. Hi Lou!
You simply make the most elegant cards, and I admire when you can restrain yourself from the “frills” to keep it simple. Simply stunning. What a nice thing to tuck in to Lou’s bag as a surprise…
I love the saying on this card. Fits my husband to a T. Hope each day is better for you. We have had colds and the cough just hangs on.
Great card for a guy! I agree with Rachel-twine and hemp is about all I ever use on a guy card although once I made a racing theme card and I had ribbon that looked like the flag at the finish so I used that!
What a beautiful card and stamp! I have admired your work with Paper Players – you have such a beautiful style – simple but never “plain”.
Thanks for sharing
