Make a birthday wish for casestudy

 Hi Everyone.  Happy Monday.

I wanted to share with you the second card that I created for the casestudy black/white and gold challenge this week.  As a reminder, here's the inspiration photo from casestudy this week.

Here's my second take on the inspiration.  You can see I brought in the black and white chevron patterin and the stars.  I used the new SU Positively Chevron background stamp to create the pattern across the top.  I used a sentiment from the Star Gazer PTI set and a PTI die.  I used the stars that were left behind from the die cut tag to decorate the white space on the card.

I couldn't help but add a little bit of black and white baker's twine to finish it off :-)  I must admit, I have really enjoyed playing around with this color scheme.  Very different for me.

On a personal note:

Lou and I braved the cold to go into St Paul for a concert last night.  The acapella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo were performing at the Ordway.  For 50 years they have been spreading a message of love, hope and peace in a truly, uniquely, South African way.  It was a wonderful performance.  totally worth going out into the cold to experience.

We have tried over the last few months to really take advantage of the amazing city that we live in.  Well, technically, cities!  It was one of the reasons we moved 2 hours north, but we really didn't take advantage the first year after we moved.  It's been wonderful to get out and experience the immense amount of cultural activities available to us.

Now, talking about cultural activities…. I'm off to go and try to catch a little Olympic action :-)

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.  Colleen, you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Okay, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ladysmith Black Mambazo and am incredibly excited you and Lou got to see them! :o)
Again, there is something so striking about the black and white card with the pops of gold. I adore those stars (and have from the first I saw you use them).
Olympics? Yup! I had curling on by 6:00 this morning. Poor Beanie keeps asking, “Is it OVER yet??” Alas, she is not the Olympics fan her mom, dad and big sis are. :oP
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hiya Lou!

  2. Hi Jaydee. This is such a beautiful color combo and you’ve used it perfectly. Love your birthday card with the chevrons and the gold banner – so pretty!! Loll xx

  3. What a fantastic colour scheme Jaydee and a beautiful card you’ve made with it! Love those sprinkled stars and the twine is perfect! You have inspired me too! Vicky x
