Happy Birthday for Casestudy

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

I have a quick post for you tonight.  When I was looking for challenges to play along with this weekend, I found this striking one across at casestudychallenge

I don't think I've ever made a black, white and gold card before, so was excited to give it a try.  In fact, I ended up making two cards.   This one is influenced completely by the colors.

I pulled out some SU DSP, Whisper White and Basic Black card stock.  Of course, I need the fabulous new gold card stock, which I love by the way!  I paired that with an old present die that I have and voila, here's my card:

I hope you can see the inspiration!  Oh, and it was very cold when I was actually taking this shot on the front porch, not that you would believe it with all of that bright sunshine.

As all the Christmas decorations are now in there "summer home" aka the garage, I have nothing to take photos on.  I have been using Barnaby and Braxby, our nutcrakers, as a "shelf" for my cards, but now I have to use the plants at the front door, and it's a little more difficult.  So, please excuse the greenery surrounding my cards right now 🙂

Have you all been watching the Olympics?   I tried creating cards in my craft room today, with the streaming coverage on my PC.  However, I spent more time watching the skating than I did crafting. I think it took me 2 hours to make a very simple card 🙂  But, the olympics only come around once every 4 years, and I can craft most weekends 🙂

As always, thank you for your visit and your comments.  Oh…. talking about that, I have a little blog candy announcement coming up tomorrow about comments.  :-)

In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.  Colleen, extra ones for you, my friend.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Oh, how pretty. The black and white with a touch of gold makes for a nice Simple and yet Elegant card.
    Thank you.
Enjoy your day and have a wonderful weekend

  2. Olympics? Me?!?
How about I did absolutely nothing Saturday but watch the games. How about the fact my TV hasn’t been off for very long as we’ve watched everything we possibly can! :o) Oh how I love the Olympics!!
I’ve done no blogging, no crafting, no nothing because I’m so distracted by what’s on the TV. ;oP
Now, that gorgeous elegant card of yours. I think crisp tuxedo cards are so lovely, and then to add that pop of gold? Perfection. I love it!
I’m off to see if I can find the Games on now…
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hiya Lou! :o)

  3. I love this card! I tried watching the Olympics the other day with the hubs. He said they were boring and we had to change the channel. Can you believe it?! Watching by myself since then! 😊

  4. Oooh! The black and gold are so elegant. Beautiful card. I too have been watching the Olympics but not much skating. My husband thinks that is boring also.

  5. Clean, classy, elegant. Well done! I think the use of the DSP really works well from the inspiration photo.

  6. I like white and black. I really like the DSP and the gift is an ideal size with the small Chevron.
Hope things are going to work out, at work for everyone. I pray for you and all the online friends. Colleen, I send you a hug and prayers your way. We all need to pray for each other.
Rach, I always like your messages and you always remember Lou. Everyone feels like you are part of my family. Thank you for all the comments and Jaydee for sharing your tips and talent.
